you mean for like 1 year with Nic? Gus' teams have always looked retarded more often than not, playcalling has always been shite.

There are calls Gus makes that are sooooo bad that not one other coach in the country makes as bad decisions. He is completely head fricked and needs to go.

Pass to kicker, FB whirlybird, let the RB throw it all the time, WILDCAT, randomly throw in the second string QB, end around with same player multiple times in a row with losses on each play, screens more than 40% of the time, never any intermediate across the middle routes, deep ball to nobody, zone read (with a non running QB) up the middle for no gain

Maybe it's a way for chip to go elsewhere too. If he can take a job would it open freeze up for oc? I think hes only getting paid like 150k for his new gig.

Right. I think the spending cap is very simple.

Salaries being capped where they are advances both Gus and Auburn’s interests.

For Gus, he doesn’t have to fire anyone. This was his clear objective here, IMO. He doesn’t want Greene telling him what to do with his program and it’s coaches. He’s going to make this work on his own or sail into the sunset.

For Auburn, they needed leverage to lower the buyout. Not canning Gus’s bbq boys was there way to get that. But they’re not going to allow Gus to match another program’s offer to his assistants should they seek a new home.

The buyout prevents us from doing this. Given the situation, I think that this could be the best option for everyone - even Gus.

So we're suggesting Gus is giving up millions of dollars out of the goodness of his heart? And he's giving up millions while having authorities revoked as well, while he gets nothing other than working at Auburn?

I love Auburn too, but come on MILLIONS $$$$ being ripped from his pockets and he's okay with it? Gotta be more to come.

Gus has showed time and time again that he refuses to adapt or change. He is probably the most stubborn coach I have ever seen. So now we expect him to change because he’s backed up against a wall? Highly doubt it seems as though Leath is an idiot and 2019 will be a wasted year of football with no progress. Yayyyyyyyy

If I was Gus, I wouldnt stay where I wasnt welcomed. Ask for x amount of money and hit the road. He's set for life. I think it has more to do with his ego

Plus everyone knows about it. I would have taken my chances of keeping all the buyout money and saving what little dignity I had left. Instead he has been proven a nutless idiot that knows he is going to get fired next year.

Yeah, they have something on him.

2 years with nick. And you can’t throw out the good years just because they don’t fit your narrative

Offense by yds/game:

2013
2014
2017
2016
2018
2015

18 and 15 both were bad rushing years, both easily the lowest. Fix the run, preferably with a running QB, and we’re back in business. Is it exciting? No. But it is what it is

They reduced his buyout...

What do you want them to get rid of it completely?

That would’ve been useful. And dumb Gus might’ve accepted.

I can see Sexton now: spits out his extra sweet tea while exclaiming “YOU DID WHAT???”

ok, what was our record the second year with Nic? Or how bout the next? How many bad mistakes were made those years?

Nic's first year we did well because Nic was the most incredible athlete on the field at all times.

why didn't he do that this year? Why didn't he do that every year we lose 4-5 games?

We got lucky with a stellar defense against our two rivals last year at home, then got whooped in the SECCG because YET AGAIN our offense looked like it was being coached by a blind retard. That is not hyperbole, Gus' offense looks like shite very often. You don't see other teams having a completely shite the bed type day and scoring 7 points. Only Gus. frick that guy

Aubie board uses the word retard more than Eminem.

Why do you keep calling him Nic? His name is Nick

Second year with Nick was 8-5. Year after that was 7-6. Then 8-5, then 10-4, etc.

How many bad mistakes? Not sure what your definition is of that. The Texas A&M fumble was bad. The whirlybirds were bad.

Nick was a wizard and he won us a few games we should have lost. But we were able to win those games because of the rushing attack. Even in 2017, our offense went when the rushing attack went.

Why did Gus get away from that? I don’t know. I doubt he intended to. I think he thought that with a more accurate and potentent passing attack that the run game would improve. He might have done that with the knowledge the OL was garbage. No clue. It obviously didn’t work

Bobby MF Petrino come on down. You just made $14 million from Louisville, welcome to revenue neutral OC town.
