I'd say our need would be less for a power guy at that point and more for a 4 that can pop 3s and drive to the lane well. That way we can abuse teams that try to use two bigs against us.

That's basically what we did in 2018-19 with Anfernee and Horace getting the majority of the minutes at the 5 (and both being about 6'8), and Chuma at the 4. Once Chuma became comfortable driving to the basket and dishing out our offense became unstoppable.

At this point in the portal I think it's going to be tough to find a really good scoring 5, though I'd love to be pleasantly surprised. I'd much rather have Murphy starting at the 5 than some mediocre offensive 5.

Honestly, as long as he could hold his own against most PF, I could get behind Hall playing the Chuma role at the 4. He's bigger than Chaney, and and around the same size as Chuma was (or bigger if he's closer to 250). He's also an excellent rebounder and really good at getting to the line (which would help foul out bigs if he's at the 4).

Tahaad at the 1, CBM at the 3, and Hall at the 4 would give us three guys who can drive to the basket really well and pop threes, along with Bashir at the 2 being a pure scorer. Tahaad and Murphy on the pick and roll game will be excellent.

I think it can/will be very effective. We'd just need to pick up another good shooting 2/3 in the portal for a bench piece.
