I kind of had this feeling all along, but we still probably have to dip into the lower levels to get some more players like we had to with Chad and Chaney. We find good players, but we just aren't in that elite group of recruiting right now. Be in NIL or whatever. We are good for like 1 or 2 top level players and then we have to fill the rest of the roster out with guys that fit the system.
I think Hoke tweeted that Hall played some C earlier in his career before he lost weight, so maybe he can play the 4 and knows how to be physical enough inside.. as it stands right now though, I hope we shoot the ball like never before because rebounding and defense are going to be issues.

Hall is a good rebounder at the 4, but agree on the defense.

Dillion Mitchell is in the portal again. We flirted with him some last year.

Just looking at the portal and another Cincinatti guy, Arrinten Page from Marietta, is in the portal. 6 11" 240 Center. 4-star out of HS.

Cincy has quite a few guys in the portal. The Tyler Betsey kid from Connecticut was apparently somebody we offered last year (according to 247)? 4 star 6-8 / 225 PF, he was a top 50 kid but was only getting 11 min/game.
It's crazy to watch the portal change every couple of hours with new players still entering. It's obvious there are plenty of players that staffs are aware of way before 247 posts them being the portal because many are posted as leaving and already have a new team listed where they are transferring to.

Steven says Chaney getting another year is "an uphill battle". Says that there have been a few players in his D2 situation try to sue the NCAA for extra eligibility and none of those have panned out, so far.

Big men that can shoot it well from the line are a true luxury but man that’s a feature I’d love to try out some time lol

What is the justification for JUCO getting it but not D2?

I think because Juco is ran by the NJCAA and D2 and 3 are still ran by the NCAA.
