If Bashir bros both came to Auburn + Magwood, Pettiford, CBM, Kelly.. you’d basically be set at the 1-3
Whoa wait, Kelly can come back? I thought he already put in 3 seasons at GT?

I thought I heard about someone else who could come back. Maybe Denver?
I believe Denver has put in 2 years at FIU and now 2 at AU, I figured he would be done?

CBM and Denver may be able to return because of the Pavia ruling a few weeks ago. Some juco thing. Last I heard, Bruce said they were looking into it, but they think they could return

They are allegedly talking about giving five years of eligibility. Supposed to discuss early this year. If that happens, the entire team could lol

You know.. I had just heard all year Kelly could return but looking at his basketball reference page I'm not sure I understand why he could come back? But I swear I had read that somewhere.

Okay, looks like he started at Garden City CC in Kansas. I had no idea.

Kelly, Denver, and Turtle are all dependent on them granting 5 years of eligibility, I believe.

I did read that on Dec 23rd the "NCAA Div 1 board of directors approved an extra year of eligibility only for 25'-26' for student athletes who previously competed at a non-NCAA school for one or more years (which includes junior colleges) and would have exhausted their eligibility after the 24'-25' season". Which seems odd they would approve this all the while they are appealing the Pavia ruling. But everything I'm reading seems to be geared to football only.

I believe the below to be correct. I still couldn't tell you who has the possibility of returning. I thought they were all done unless Denver and CBM can apply for the same JUCO waiver.

Chaney Johnson (I assume he was given a 5th yr due to Covid yr enrollment)
20'-23' started career at UAH Div 2 (3 yrs)
23'-25' spent 2 years at AU

Denver Jones (I assume he was given a 5th yr due to Covid yr enrollment)
20'-21' started his college career at Garden City CC
21'-23' spent two seasons at FIU
23'-25' spent two seasons at AU

CBM (I assume he was given a 5th yr due to Covid yr enrollment)
20'-21' started his college career at Duquesne
21'-22' spent 1 year at San Diego St
22'-23' spent 1 year at NW Fl St Jr College
23'-25' spent 2 years at AU

Miles Kelly (Don't know how he would get a 5th yr at AU)
21'-24' started career at GT (3 yrs)
24'-25' spent 1 year at AU

Ja'Heim Hudson (Don't know how he would get a 5th yr at AU)
21'-23' started career at Ga St (2 yrs)
23'-24' spent 1 year at SMU
24'-25' spent 1 year at AU

Problem is they can’t give this to just one “type” of athlete. They set the precedent and they are going to have to act uniform across the board with all NCAA athletes.

They’re considering granting every player 5 years of eligibility

I’ve been calling 5 years to play 5 and do away with Redshirts.

Only redshirts available are for injury that takes 2 seasons away.

Certainly this kind of rule would exclude those players that were already granted a 5th yr for this season due to covid (last yr for it). And also if this Juco rule takes effect, those players would be excluded from this possible new 5 yr rule, right?

You would think but the NCAA is running out of legs to stand on and is probably afraid of getting sued again. Wouldn’t shock me if they just made it a blanket thing.

Juco would be excluded meaning they can play 5 yrs of NCAA ball. Plus if you were in the NCAA for 5 yrs you are done with your eligibility.

That is why Denver amd CBM have chance to play next yr.

So before this Pavia ruling, Denver and CBM are playing a 5th year due to their covid yr. enrollment (juco was still counting as part of the 5 yrs). Now they could get another yr because of the "juco doesn't count" ruling. This is tough to keep up with . And if they are actually considering just granting everyone a 5th year regardless, a whole bunch of non juco and non covid players becoming eligible instantly.

Basically the NCAA is terrified to tell people they can’t be in college anymore

This is the dumbest thing. My personal opinion is 5-6 yrs it’s time to move on with life

However for guys like CBM and Denver is a great way to get paid playing basketball while being treated almost like royalty instead of going overseas
