Well yeah. They want their win to look great. I want our wins against Houston, and UNC to look good too but it does not appear that will happen. Bama just ran them out of their gym.
Whiny post incoming: No matter what we do, Bama seems to one up us in basketball on a consistent basis. Really annoying for me.

What have they one upped us with?

5 star recruiting, marquee wins, SEC regular/conf titles, draft picks, NCAA tournament appearances/final four (recency bias). After Bruce got a proper foothold, I thought we will dominate the state in at least one major sport, but they hire Oats and he also got going really quickly. So yeah maybe one upping may not be strictly true as literally we are dead even I think in 2 SEC/Conference titles, FF appearance.

They are nipping at our heels but dont worry we still lead.

I had a bama fan bragging about passing our program after last season and I told him then we got something to say about that... So far he is already conceding if both teams play their best Auburn probably barely wins.

5 star recruiting,

We’ve had 5 5 stars since 2020. They’ve had 4

quote:

marquee wins

I’m not going to pull a stat for this because it’s just not true

quote:

SEC regular/conf titles

We both have 4 each

quote:

draft picks

We have 5 1st round picks (4 if you don’t count Davion Mitchell) and 2 2nd round picks

They have 5 1st round draft picks and 2 2nd round picks

quote:

NCAA tournament appearances/final four (recency bias)

We’ve have had the same amount of appearances (we would have had 1 more if not for COVID).

They’re not one upping us in anything.

They are doing better at getting past the first weekend, but I agree with the rest.

I like where we sit right now. Duke was a great experience and atmosphere. I’d rather us lose now than later on because we have a bonafide final four team and I think we would beat Duke on a neutral court if we had to play them again

according to CBB Analytics, Auburn's lineup of: Tahaad Pettiford Denver Jones Miles Kelly Chaney Johnson Johni Broome has played 22 possessions this season... with a net rating of +109.2 (!!!) small sample size, but it has an offensive eFG of 81.8% and a defensive eFG of 35.7%

That should be our starting lineup. Not surprising at all that it is a killer lineup in terms of metrics.

In 1st half when they were really making a run we had a really bad offensive lineup something like - JP, CMo, Dylan, Cheney and maybe Denver and it was tough to watch. He has to do better than that

I really wish jahki was making an impact.

I'm guessing we'll see him in the next stretch a fair bit, unless he's just straight done due to his attitude (imagine he would already entered the portal if that was the case though).

I have to say though, every time I've seen the camera pan past him on the bench he still kinda looks disinterested, bitchy, or checked out most the time. Meanwhile I'm always seeing Hudson giving guys high fives and getting hyped at good plays.

Hope Howard can grow up and fix his attitude, as we could use the depth and definitely could use him next year. Would definitely rather have his athletic skill set on the floor rather than Moore.

In our 5 games against top 50 teams, CBM is shooting 56% from 3, 71% from 2, and 100% (19/19) from the foul line. I genuinely think he's a top 15-20 player in the country.

There we're people on here talking last year saying he shouldn't be allowed back this year. Fools

I said last year I thought he was our most well rounded player and if he put on some weight and got better at driving he has a shot to get drafted. The weight gain hasn't happen, but he got better in every area.

I think BYU paying the $6-7 mil that's being rumored is insane. I look at our roster.. Some of our top guys, Broome from Morehead St, Dylan was a 3 star, Cheney came from D3, CBM had transferred like 2 or 3 times, Kelly was a marginal contributor for GT, Denver came from Florida Atlantic.. Our whole roster, for the top team in the country, is probably less than half of what BYU paid for a 1 year rental who doesn't get them in the national title picture. Glad Bruce had enough sense to back out of this one.

I’d have to think Broome is 1/3 of that, right?
