Yeah I saw the irony. But what else does the Athletic Department really have left from the 2010 season? We have the national championships banner on the back of one scoreboard and we have a picture outside the stadium above the visitors entrance. I can't really think of anything else that's left. I don't have a problem with either of those. And you originally said

Don't quite get some of you getting bothered by some of the video. The reason so many kids come to Auburn is because of the rich tradition and past success. They are here to make their own mark.
As for Brannigan always having to talk down the talent at Auburn you can GFY. I know you are trying really hard to be the cool one, but you try too hard .

It's not. It was above the wall of names we signed on signing day. It doesn't bother me too much, but I do kinda wish we didn't feel like we had to come up with some new slogan every year.
And while I do like to see 2010 footage, I wish they'd at least keep it separate from video of any workouts/drills, etc from this year. That was then, this is now.
Good to see our guys gettin after it, though.

Justin Garret could be a hell of a hybrid lb/ safety. He got time at safety last year. It would be an awesome comeback story if Corey Grant could beat out some folks and get pt this season.

Thank you. That's what I was trying to say. There comes a point where you have to move on. It's not 2010 anymore. You can't proclaim it's a "new day" and then try to sell it off of the success of 2010. AU does have a rich tradition, and it sells itself. These slogans whether they be anything from the Bowden era to All In, to now it's a New Day come across as cheesy. I just don't see why our AD feels the need to continually try to sell AU this way.

I'm gonna say because it makes $$$. The AD makes a slogan, gets the Coach to promote it, local businesses/school affiliates market it and print the tshirts, fans buy them, AD and school make money. Maybe like 10-15% is genuinely trying to motivate the team, but I'm sure the team has their own slogans going around. Like the acronyms you used to see on the tshirts only the players got during Tubs' tenure.

I understand what you are saying. But I think they are doing this because of how terrible last season was and how lackluster the fanbase, players and all around football program is right now. They need to breath "new life" into the program. Revamp it. Yeah its a little cheesy, but players and some fans buy into that shite sometimes. It doesn't bother me, I'm not going to say "Its a new Day!! YAY!!". I don't care and don't care what other fanbases say about it. I don't feel like bitching about this type of shite we cant control anyway.
I like what Malzahn is doing so far, just looking forward to seeing if he can put a winning product on the field.

I think my biggest issue was that the last staff had that 2010 stuff plastered all over the practice fields and indoor facility in the last two years. I'm fine with it being in the football complex, but it doesn't need to be on the practice fields. I'm not sure if the current staff will do that, but I hope they won't have anything about 2010 up on the practice fields.

Same here... I don't give a frick what they put on a banner or video as long as we win football games.
They can put "RESPECH MAH AUTHORITAH BEEYOTCHES!" on a damn banner and fly it from J-H and I won't give a shite if we win 9 games this year.
