To tell you the truth 2010 was great....but if you were to ask me which team I wanted, 2004 or 2010. I'd pick 2004, that team was a hardnosed hardworking team at every position. I'm all for reminiscing 2010, but I still feel like 2010 was a team of a few stars carrying the load, whereas 2004 was blood and guts.

I wasn't talking about the fans. I was talking about the athletic dept. Do you not see the irony in the slogan "A New Day" and the fact that video clip produced to highlight this slogan featured football highlights from 3 years ago?

so you suggest we use highlights from last year or none at all?

To me I would take the 2010 season over and over again. You can't match all the drama with the come from behind victories and all the Cam Newton stuff. That was the most fun year of Auburn Football I've ever experienced. There was something different about that season that makes it stand out even from 2004.

I'd say this is spot on with how i feel about it too. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to slight the 2004 team but you can never replicate the 2010 team/season. I don't think that's true for 2004.

Me too. We went to almost every game as well. That season had a silver lining that we may never have again

Plus, we won the BCS National Championship. 2004 left a bad taste in my mouth

No problem with highlighting the 2010 season. Every one of those football players and coaches wants to win a NC. Shove the success of the 2010 season in the players faces. They need to realize how bad they were last year and change their mindset and that's what the coaches are doing with a new slogan, etc..

CGM has a job to do to change the culture there. I don't see any problem with any part of that video or a slogan. It gets me excited again for AU football.

Yea, I have no problem with reflecting on 2010 in the video. Just showing it can be done at Auburn.

Now, I do think it's a little much to still have it posted all over the place in the AD, if true. Just display the crystal ball at this point.

Tommy Tuberville's defense would have had no answer for Malzahn/Newton... none.

Disagree. Tubs speed to size ratio on D was no joke. Dude shut down Tebow twice. No one else can claim that.

Tommy's answer to Newton would have been to keep his arse on the bench while Caddy and Ronnie held the ball for 45+ minutes of T.O.P. and Campbell play action tossed that porous passing defense to bits.

Malzahn also bent Tubby over his knee in one of those years with less talent then he had in 2010.

11 am game. That does not count.

Tebow could only dream about doing the things that Cam *did*.

Yeah, like teams with the same kind of ability on offense didn't try to do that in 2010.

That wouldn't really work on our defense in 2010. It's remembered as a average defense but we really had a great run defense. The secondary sucked major dick though.

Nobody beats the 2010 team that played in the SEC Championship game. The only team that I think comes close would be the 2004 Tennessee game team.

2010 SEC Championship game team vs. 2004 Tennessee game team would possibly be the best football game ever.

Agreed, there was also the Arkansas factor. It didn't matter who ran the offense there, or how bad Arkansas was, Tuberville lost to Arkansas, a lot.
