Let's see the terms before stating this absolute.

Good. Let's get Gus out recruiting tomorrow and get a solid class to compete in the West for years to come.
I like when Auburn is in the mix in November and December.

Sigh. I know it's what we had to do, and I know that it's the best option.
But I can't shake this feeling that we were two games away from screaming for his head and that if we lose 4 games next year (neutral site Washington, LSU, @Georgia, @Alabama), we'll be wondering how long it'll be until we can afford to fire him.

We were. But that's how this crazy sport works. Also, we're some of the most finicky fans in CFB.

5y at 7mm makes me uncomfortable. Looking at 3 years guaranteed before we can realistically think about moving on if he reverts.

We need to stop worrying about this and start getting the wheels in motion to make sure our Juniors who aren't ready for the draft don't do anything stupid.

Good. Glad that's over with.
I think Gus is still learning and truly believe his best days are ahead of him.
I am going to enjoy the melt from some.

We spent millions on a giant TV... we can afford it. Good move keeping Gus, and in a year or two at the most when other coaches get their raises it won't seem like as much money.

I agree. Even if this doesn't pan out it was still the right play considering the current environment.

I was hoping/expecting 6 or 6.5 over four years.

That’s basically where I’m at too. And it sucks. Gus can make flashes of greatness and is worth keeping for that alone, but damn is it hard to get your hopes up only to watch the whole thing crash down right when it matters most.
It’s nauseating to be 2-2 on playoff teams this season and be looking in from the outside.

Good. Program is in good shape. No reason to upset the apple cart. Let's build some depth and keep things going.
