true, but Washington would be behind Clemson as the toughest opening opponent we have faced out of that group.

I am nervous as hell about this game for 2 reasons:

1. our OL is really green and unknown in key spots.
2. Washington is very strong in their offense and their QB is on par with the CF QB we faced last.

I will admit I was wrong about the 0-1 part.

But I am not wrong about slow starting Gus. I don’t ever want to play another top 25 team before game 5 as long as he is our coach.

Instead of bashing me, Lanier, do you expect to win this game and if so by how much? Will you be shocked if our offense is confused and unproductive and we lose by 10?

Washington is a really good team. My negative thoughts are about them being good as much as us playing confused.

I think I should just buy an extra season ticket so I can sell it to someone in your tailgate as standing room only. It’s good juju...would probably pay for the NC tickets that year.

We do have a our returning starter at QB. The last time we had that in 2014, we started 5-0 and then fell on our face in Starkville.

Thats not what you said. You said opening games.

And yes, we have started slow with Gus at times but we also have won a lot of those games. And to his defense, like I do at times, we have started with some very tough schedules over the past few years with a brand new QB every year but one.

I will be absolutely shocked if we lose by 10. Absolutely. Will I be shocked if we start slow? Heck no. We will as will every team including Washington. Its the first game of the year in a big environment. Of course we wont be clicking on all cylinders. But I totally expect our defense to keep us in it until we can get something going on offense.

New offensive line is certainly a issue. New running backs like to fumble and those things can kill you. Hopefully Cam Martin will be ready and play up to the hype so we can forget about that part.

I totally expect our defense to be stout and fired up.

They are good and Petterson is a hell of a coach. Getting his QB back and his secondary will make it tough. But in the end, I think we are a much better team and program and I see Auburn winning the game in the end.

Lanier,

I see where you are confident. I am confident about many of our areas. But we lost a lot in the secondary, kicking game, OL, and RB.

By the way, you seemed to ignore an important part of my first post:

I pray that I am wrong.

I am an Auburn man through and through. I just want to see us start fast and impress the country for a change.

At least we won’t need 2-4 games to figure out our offensive identity.

Who is the Home Team? I hope we are away because last year we actually only lost 1 game in the white uniforms by 6 pts.
