Preview

-Looks as if their starting TE is out for 9 months, Washington normally uses a lot of 3 TE sets.

-2 projected starters from their offensive line were held out in the spring because injury.

-Their top 2 returning Recievers are coming off season ending injuries from the 2017 season.

-They return all 5 players in their secondary, a secondary that SBnation has called the "best in the country"

-Washington returns 16 starters total

-Says biggest weakness is Special Teams

O/T: What's up with Penn State's #28, starting SS Troy Apke at the very end of the youtube clip?

It appears that he's taunting James Franklin right after he and another teammate doused him with Gatorade - then Franklin takes off after him, looking completely pissed:

Nervous about this game. Think they'll be a hard out and we risk setting a poor tone to start the season. I think we got the horses though it just depends on coaching which we can all admit varies widely between abysmal and badass.

Worries me a bit matchup wise. Especially considering Gus has Stidham coming back, a stable of recievers and no lead running back at the moment.

Agree.

I was thinking that this would be the year we FINALLY start off with a non conference win, but after reading that - ugh.

I am guessing the Gus bus is in it’s neutral position for another opening day loss by 9-12 points.

I pray that I am wrong. Sick of starting out 0-1.

My B. Clemson was game 2 last year but felt like the opener.

Gus/Chip needs to start off with plays that they know can be successful so we build momentum early.

Third straight game in MBS and a massive crowd advantage should give us an intangible edge.

I know... Especially since the last 2 have gone SO well, and because we NEVER start off the season by taking 3 or 4 games to figure out our offensive identity

I know sarcasm, but even bad experience is positive experience from a familiarity/knowledge standpoint.

I understand that. I'm just saying we haven't fared so well at MBS, nor have we started fast under CGM
