8-9 players. Only 1 is a major contributor

quote:Yeah, I had to decide when to run those tests on my unit during one of my tours in the military. Did a random on a Friday before a 3 day weekend and when we got back the first thing Tuesday morning was a unit wide sweep....One Dude popped on both tests different drugs and caught a ton more...worked with another unit in San Diego and we used the NCIS and busted a drug gang that was dealing in our hangars along with having parties, etc...easy to get drugs from Mexico...
During basic training my unit had 24 hour leave and I knew command would make us pay for it afterwards.

Obviously don’t know the specifics here but kicking guys off the team for one failed pot test would be harsh compared to
The previous regime.
Case in point, nick marshall was busted for a small amount of weed prior to the 2014 season and served a half game suspension against arkansas.

And gave me delusions of grandeur about Jeremy Johnson because of it.
I mean these days players caught with guns and dope get the matters handled internally.

Only if they grew up without air conditioning.

I thought if it is a drug policy put out by Auburn, that the first offense would not be a dismissal, but a suspension.
Or if they were dismissed, is this Harsin doing this, and not Auburn policy specific?

Yea, it would not be the first failed test if these guys are suspended. I believe it would be their 2nd failed test actually misses games.

I’d love for that policy to get leaked. Really curious how different schools handle it

Is there a game week press conference today?
Posted on 10/25/21 at 10:18 am to jangalang
Harsin usually talks on Monday/previews the opponent

I think the key point is, that the HC can add to the initial penalty based on which level they are tested positive for.
So I guess we will know for sure this afternoon...
losing as many as 8-10 will be devastating to the depth of the team, not even including the distraction, which I am sure Harsin hates more than anything...

The penalty system expanded from three to five tiers with points being assigned for a each failed test (one point for marijuana and synthetic Cannabioids; three points for other banned substances).
If a student-athlete tests positive for marijuana they are subject to a one-year probationary period. Any further positive tests result in loss of playing time starting with 25 percent of the competitive season. A player receives a permanent loss of his or her playing status at five points.
From the link. Seems like a pretty generous policy honestly
