Personal opinion, if we lose this weekend, I think Freeze is gone.
maybe

i think they let the season play out then fire him after Bama beats us into submission

AU has had the lead in the final minute of the last 4 IBs in J-H, i tend to think that changes bigtime this year, but not in a good way

Yep, which I think also plays a part in what the messaging has been this week.

I say that to just say lets see how the season plays out before we light the torches.

I'll be at the games regardless, loud and obnoxious.

Yea, probably clarify I didn't necessarily mean he is fired after the game, I just mean I don't think he will be our coach next year if we lose this weekend. I think there is a decent chance he may step down before season ends depending on how things go.

Why would anyone step down voluntarily when there's a huge buy-out on the table? Why would anyone negotiate to a lower buy-out?

Three years ago, Auburn and Freeze made a deal, that, if AU did not want him anymore, he would be paid a pre-determined amount of money as severance. Why would he back away from that?

You may not like buy-outs, Hugh Freeze, Auburn's current level of play or record, or any/all of the above, but a deal's a deal, right?

I think he's related to Freeze somehow.

I predicted 9-3 or 8-4 with us starting 4-2 or 3-3. I thought we had a legit chance at OU and at home to UGA. I say that to just say lets see how the season plays out before we light the torches. We all want to win so I get the frustration but the bitchfest hurts recruiting.

I've been entertaining this line of thinking for the past couple days. Most reasonable takes before the season had us starting 3-3 with these exact losses. But at the same time we expected improvement on his side of the ball and as a leader, yet we've gone backwards. The only reason it's not uglier and even a point of contention is bc the defense is so damn good. The piece of the team he has the least influence over.

Yeah... I think he needs to go.

“Step down”?

He will either be our coach or collect 16 million dollars.

Describe the other options.

I doubt that. Every year Saban is gone, you can see that team get more and more soft.

I agree. The offense being so putrid is why I dont have any hope that it'll ever get better. Our offense could be playing GA since Saturday, and they still wouldnt have been able to get the 10 points needed to tie the game

i think he may “step down” the same way Tubs “resigned”

technically AU claimed he wasn’t exactly “fired” - but we still paid him 100% of his buyout as a sign of our “gratitude”

Yea, basically that. It is all semantics, but also a better publicity perception, which frankly we can use all the help we can get there. Wouldn't surpise me if they used health or something as the reason.

May not happen, we may just fire him if we keep losing. It just wouldn't surprise me if that scenario was how it played out.

They have twice the talent we have and better coaching. Not sure why you think we can beat them. Plus, they marched into Athens and beat a team that beat us in their house

Bama is going to crush this Auburn team

Our home field advantage has been neutered and negligible thanks to disbelief in Freeze and ref frickery.

PTB is asking for a lame duck.

How much better talent did they have than the 4 teams uat lost to last season or FSU this season?

I never said that. I just see a soft finesse football team now.

Quick pivot watching the Louisville vs Miami game and there was a play where the holder went for a 4th and 1 but was called short of the end zone but got the first down. Refs went to the monitors to review and they showed and let you here the conversation between the refs and booth. Does that happen in sec games? I just remember everything going silent. Does the sec booth have a different protocol? Help me out baws, perhaps it's my old age.

Yes, but also wondering why you think uat is still the uat of the Saban era? DeBoner is a soft coach, and uat is becoming a soft program.

I didn’t say they were. But they are way better than this pathetic Auburn team.

Calling him soft while we have a fake arse paster in charge is just ironic.

No but everyone is asking for it after the first acc game that did it.
