Well, looking from the outside, Miss St has had a very stable athletic department.
And for those questioning his CBB hire, he led teams to Final 4’s.

My concern as well. The “well respected” tag lines are usually a red flag for someone that has had some issues and isn’t necessarily very popular but we need to make things sounds better. If the fans of the people you are hiring him from are fairly happy you are trying to do so, that speaks volumes.
He seems like a Jay Jacob’s type guy. Well respected in the industry, yet there are some probably pretty good reasons the fans hate him, even if they’ve had a stable department. If another program tried to hire Jacob’s away from us, what would our reaction have been? Let that be a metric to measure off of
ETA: and I know almost nothing of the guy. I’m just commenting on the reactions from Miss State people on the rumors.
