If it was Riley, I would take my shirt off and act like a redneck all over NOLA today.

I would also be such an off season dick on SECR.

Marcello has an update

- Mike Yurcich is a possibility and his knowledge of pass offenses could blend well with our rush attack but there are concerns he has only called plays for 4 seasons. Also there were complaints his offense became one dimensional at times

- BM still thinks Mark Helfrich is a possibility

- Experience seems to be one of the top priorities. We want an OC that has a lot of experience calling plays

- Apparently timeline for when the hire gets done is unclear

- He has not heard Eddie Gran mentioned as a possibility

I almost think you'd be disappointed if we did hire one of them.

It will be a Steele type hire. Some old sec guy that no one talks about. It's not going to be some big name out of conference guy.

4 seasons is a lot of playcalling.

We are going to be stuck with some washed up former HC whose last days of offensive innovation was when they worked with Bill Walsh

It was dimensional in the passing game.

Gus is one dimensional in the run game.

Seems like Gus would be the Sonny to Mike's Cher

Yeah, I don't get that either. It is not got dang rocket science. 4 years is plenty of time in football.

I agree completely thought that comment was crazy. Not sure how many years we want because I would think 4 is plenty

Marcello has a further update

- One of the things he knows is that experience is critical to the hire. Kendal Briles was eliminated because doesn't have enough experience as a playcaller. BM mentioned Sonny Dykes as a good candidate but it sounds like that was speculation and not anything he has heard from sources

- Another thing he says he knows is the new OC must challenge Malzahn. Mentions how the passing game has struggled and the fact that offense has been limited to mostly screens & go routes. New OC must fix passing game

- He thinks Mike Yurcich is a top candidate as 2 sources close to team has mentioned him. Also believes Mark Helfrich is still a candidate and that Sterlin Gilbert could be "interesting" option but goes against the experience bit they want. Marcello said he thinks AU should consider Josh Heupel

Well with him you can't tell if it's him or if he is just getting credit under Gundy.
