We're all probably wrong. What if Harsin comes back with someone like a Mullen? Not saying he will hire Mullen (they have different styles), but what if it is a "big name" we're overlooking?

Auburn hasn’t been known to hire big time HCs, but we’ve always seemed to hire big time coordinators. I’m still sticking with Harsin didn’t fire Bobo just to hire another mediocre OC. He knows he needs to create a spark, and he knows that he can’t afford to keep recruiting like it has been.

Zach Kittley, Western Kentucky

247 added this guy to the board. KN says they scored 30+ in all of their games and 40+ in 8 games

Haven’t watched WKU this year. What kind of offense do they run? I know they have a top 5 offense.

But wouldn't we have announced it by now? Why wait to announce Mullin?

Now that is an interesting name.. I've been hearing about this guy lately. WKU had a quick turnaround with him there. I think some Texas Tech people we're wanting him, but I could be wrong.

Definitely not someone you fire Bobo for.

We fired the wrong coordinator. Say what you will about the offense, but we gave up a shite-ton of yards this year INCLUDING A 98-YARD DRIVE, in a game we had in hand, in the middle of the 4th fricking quarter! All because we went back to running that shite defense that lost us a bunch of games.

Of all the games you pick to complain about, you choose maybe the best defensive performance we’ve had in a very long time. We gave up 10 points against one of the best offenses in the country and shut them out for 3 quarters. The defense is at the bottom of the list of reasons we lost.

MSU is the game that was awful for Mason.

Harsin...

Mason is a friend.
Bobo is not a friend.

So 6-6 at AU you have to make changes. if 6-6 next year Mason gets the boot. 6-6 the year after the HC gets the boot.

I mean, the next OC is still coaching, or our HC is a fool.

I don’t disagree that Mason should be gone too, but so did Bobo. Even some former Auburn players on Instagram were calling for Mason’s head after the IB. You usually don’t see former players do that.

I agree with you about that. At least they are finally getting creative instead of just grabbing low hanging fruit though.

I think the creativity is because KN heard this one.

The rest is just Nathan King Which seems like a nice enough guy but he looks like he’s 19

Oh, I've got a lot of complaints about a lot of other games, but when you are playing lights-out defense for 3.5 quarters, and decide to change to the shite that didn't work all year, LIKE FUNKING GA STATE, YOU HAVE TO QUESTION THE IQ OF WHO MADE THAT DAMN DECISION!

Cannot compute

The offensive coordinator doesn't control whether or not a ball carrier fumbles, or doesn't fumble.

Their offense moved the ball, ranked in the upper tier in terms of yards-per-play, and was above-average in converting the critical downs (ie: 3rd and 4th downs). This implies that the scheme and play calling was working. You judge coordinators based off of what they did or didn't call, and their ability to scheme against the opponent (and obviously as well as how well they coach their position group).

Except for certain scenarios, you don't tie player-made "football moves" to the play caller. For example, if you call a run play into a stacked side of the defense and the ball carrier is hit behind the line, but by some freak occurrence he breaks three tackles and scores from 75 yards...that wasn't a "good call" by the OC.

Do you get it now? We are talking about bringing Zak Hill to Auburn as the OC. We are not talking about bringing their RB's and WR's, and whether or not they can or can't hold onto the football.
