Also, today's practice is the start of preps for Washington. A lot of articles out there saying Auburn plays too many tough teams to make the playoff, or even SEC championship this year, projecting 8-9 total wins. Should motivate the team even with preseason ranking.

Greene has GOT to get AU out of playing UGA and Bama both home or both away every year somehow. Dogshit we have to do that against both rivals. Not sustainable long term IMO.

True. They have an article up on Auburn Football's page by Chris Smith titled, 'Tough schedule will make for disappointment in Auburn.' There's some decent points in there but gtfo of here with that opinion piece about 'his' rankings.

I broke the cardinal rule on that website: I went down to the comments section on a couple of articles recently. Good freaking Lord I had forgotten.

I haven't done it in a while, but reading comments on there is what I imagine it's like doing heroin.

It will be UGA since they had to play at JHS twice in a row when we got on this stupid rotation. I'm fine with it. Go ahead and get it out of the way.

Gonna have to be UGa. We owe them anyway, since they were scheduled to play us in J-H two years in a row (I know they played us there in 2013, they were scheduled to play us in 2012 but I have no recollection of that game for some reason.)

But then that sets our and UGA's SEC home-away schedule off to be off, with a 5-3 tilt one year and a 3-5 tilt the other. The entire SEC's schedule would have to be reworked to fix this problem (not that it shouldn't be; the fact that us and Georgia had to take the fall for the change is utterly ridiculous)

The only team making a complaint about the current setup is Auburn

UGA didn't really get that raw of a deal outside of the one game. Pretty much everyone here would gladly trade an extra game @ UGA if it meant we got rid of IB and DSOR being both away every other year. UGA did complain about it when it happened too, it just doesn't affect them anymore because it was the one game.

Current setup, yes, but "We had to play y'all in JHS two times in a row" is not a completely uncommon refrain on tSECr

Seems like there could be a way to flip a rotational, cross-division game to counterbalance it all back out, but damn if I know, I ain't no rocket surgeon.

Joey is bigger and more athletic and has a way stronger arm. Cords biggest downside is lack of arm strength. Not to mention Gatewood was a higher rated recruit coming out of HS. The only debatable thing between them to me is accuracy, but Gatewood should theoretically get better with that.

I'm not knocking Sandberg either, Gatewood is just a guy with tons of potential.

Malik Willis is nowhere near as talented as Nick Marshall. His arm strength and downfield accuracy are also nowhere near Nick Marshall’s level.

Jeremy Johnson had size and arm strength too

Honestly Gatewood probably has more potential than JJ did. Obviously potential doesn't mean anything if it doesn't manifest it self (See JJ's backwards pass lol), but Gatewood has every tool needed to make it. If you watch film on Sandberg though his arm just wasn't very strong. Maybe its gotten stronger over the years he was playing baseball, but I just don't think its strong enough to play against SEC defenses.
