That picture should have been all we needed to know about Cowart.

With the flame level you’ve posted with on the Rant the last month or so, that’s surprising.

Right. My first thought when I heard about him was, "he carries a Chucky doll around? Cool. He's probably psycho and going to wreck shite". Little did we know it was actually his emotional support animal

Step away from the ledge. This team could go 8-4 or 12-0 but has zero similarities to the 2016 team.

I mean, I get the anxiety. Our schedule is a beast. This team is so stacked, though, maybe he can do it. Personally I think our defense and special teams will both be better and that, alone, should keep us in every single game. If the offense develops an identity in a hurry (and with Stidham, it should), we’re going to be hard for anyone to beat.

The weirdest thing is Cowart ended up at Maryland...

Maryland, the school who just had a kid die and whose methods of intimidation and "hard coaching" would make Garner blush

I didn’t even consider how ironic that was.

Well to be fair what I was getting at is you could tell by Gus that it was a starter or upperclassman not a shivers or joiner.

Tisk Tisk Malik.

DO NOT READ BELOW IF WANTING POSI NEWS ON OLINE

Per JB Grimes starting OL is

Tega
Harrell
Kim
Horton
Driscoll

Driscoll beat out Trox because he is stronger.

Driscoll has beaten out redshirt freshman Austin Troxell at right tackle for one simple reason: strength. The UMass graduate transfer is stronger than the redshirt freshman and is expected to start Sept. 1 against the Huskies.
“My daddy said a long time ago, a blind hog will find an acorn every once in a while,” Grimes said. “Well, I think we found us an acorn in that one in getting a grad transfer from UMass that had probably no stars coming out of high school.”
Driscoll, now a junior, was rated a 2-star prospect out of high school, according to the 247Sports Composite, and was rated below the top 250 players at his position.
“He was a 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end that now, in my opinion, after watching him on tape, is an SEC football player,” Grimes said. “He belongs here. For us to be able to get that kid, with the kind of work ethic that he has, the kind of professional attitude that he has, the kind of intelligence that he has, on top of an excellent football IQ, is amazing. We’re really, in my opinion, fortunate to have that young man on our football team right now.”

“(Troxell) belongs here,” he said. “Is he strong enough yet? No. I have so much faith in our strength coach (Ryan Russell) that I really believe in November that we’ll be stronger in November than we are right now in August. That’s the key. You either get worse or you get better, you never stay the same. We have to get stronger, we have to get quicker and we have to get more explosive.”

Wanogho is a strong run blocker but needs to improve in pass protection, Grimes said. Harrell might be the smartest player along the offensive line. Kim has missed on a few snaps, but the technique and communication along the offensive line has not been an issue.

That’s one thing Kaleb is doing very, very well for us right now. We’re communicating well. We’re headed to the right people. We’re not always blocking them, OK? We’re getting whipped some but I look at our defensive line, and I think our defensive line is pretty good. They’re gonna whip some people this year. It’s one of those situations where we’re going to face people like that every week. We’re going to face people like that in Game 1, Sept. 1, against Washington. We’re going to face those kind of people. I’ll never use that as an excuse for not being successful. We’ve got to block those kind of people, but the good news is we’re doing it day in and day out, which will only make us better.”

I mean, if I heard our offensive line was stopping our DL, I’d be more worried.

Yea, hard to know how to take that. I mean I've watched Bama's DL whip their OL at times. It just happens if you're playing against a great DL.

On the other hand, we can't have our OL getting whipped a lot, so I think it all depends on how much its happening.

Good thing is Grimes says we are communicating well. As long as that is happening, that should mean we aren't having a lot of free runners, which is what causes the big problems. Couple guys get beat on a play, you can still manage positive yards. If assignments just get missed, big problems.

This is a tad concerning.
