— Running backs Shaun Shivers and JaTarvious Whitlow had touchdown runs today.
— Freshman Harold Joiner is working at receiver, but he received about 10 plays at running back.
— Former running back Devan Barrett continues to work at receiver, but he’s still an option at running back, we’re told. He saw some snaps at RB today in the scrimmage.
— Chandler Cox is very impressed with freshman Seth Williams, who has been a threat in the red zone: “That guy, he’s good. He’s making tremendous catches. … He’s making one-handed grabs, every ball thrown his way.”
— “I’m excited about it,” said Cox, who handled Wildcat snaps against Clemson in 2016. “We’re not going to be doing any of that spinning stuff we did two years back, stuff I did in high school.”

Disinformation for the Huskies. I like it!

There have been 2 scrimmages, broseph.
Yes I know that's my point. Gus and Lindsey both said they wanted OL in place soon after first scrimmage. Here we are 2 scrimmages in only a few days of fall camp left and still shuffling pieces around. Clemson 2.0

-- Jack Driscoll hasn't solidified the starting job at right tackle yet, so competition is ongoing with him and Austin Troxell
But if these two are still going at it, that's not necessarily bad, considering how game ready Driscoll was supposed to be. It could be a good problem.

Along with Chandler Cox and JaTarvious Whitlow, Malzahn says two other guys are getting some Wildcat reps -- but he won't say who.
Confirmed Shivers Wildcat with Schwartz in motion

Good. He needs to be used as a true hybrid.

I like the idea of Shivers taking a wildcat snap. Dude would basically be invisible behind the line.

Exactly. Nobody would have a clue if he handed the ball off or not until he was already 40 yards downfield.
We'll call it the Shhhh Formation.

Gonna be some quality melts on here when Gus tries to hide Shivers behind the guard like he did with Felix Jones at Arkansas.
ETA: rb was right, it was Fish and not Jones

We're having competition. That's not what was really going on last year.

Correct, and it worked... but that's not going to stop people on here for melting.

We tried it another time and it failed miserably. Can’t remember who against though.

Even if it goes for just 0 yards, it doesn't mean it is a failure.
One trick play like that requires opponents to spend valuable practice time prepping for a trick play instead of stopping our actual offense.
Then in the game, everytime a Shivers/Davis steps on the field, players have one more thing to look for/pay attention to
Then we can always run fake trick plays if we think the opponent is committed to stopping the trick play

That play has a big tell. All of the linemen on the side of the person crouching are very tight (literally shoulder to shoulder). If someone bites on it being a fake, then that side of the line is going to open up things like the red sea.

Didn't we do that with Mccalleb too?
