I don't have a problem with people transferring. I have a problem with lying about staying and then leaving anyway. That's a sorry MF who does that.

But you are probably right. I have a season or two at most left in me most likely.

At some point, it’s not a serious sport when the entire roster is remade year after year.

The portal has turned college sports into minor league baseball. It has some entertainment value, but it’s hard to be devoted to a team that constantly rolls over the entire 2 deep season after season.

It just looks unsustainable to me.

I used to know every player on the team and their hometowns. I know SWA is from Houston, Murphy was Birmingham, Pettiford NJ, but I don’t know all of them bc they just aren’t here very long.

Bukky Oboye has signed! 7’1 center from Santa Clara.

Yea, the portal has been far more detrimental to sports than NIL has. I understand why they changed the rules before NIL existed, but it was such a poor decision to do, when in reality the NCAA new that NIL was going to be coming within the next few years. You can't have a free for all transfer market as well as basically unenforceable contracts and have a hope that the sport will improve. It will eat itself alive.

Really good get. Very physical guy. Still a little raw offensively, but he is a menace in the paint. Him and Ngoy is a physical duo at the 5.

So pumped to have two 7 footers this year. One seems to be more traditional big and Bukky seems to be more stretch/mobile.

Curious where the rest of this roster is going towards. Depending on who we get at the 3/4, wonder if Pearl is going to be going back to more of the 18/19 play style.

Appears to have a lot of agility for a 7footer.

yep. his upside is tremendous.

Narcisse Ngoy: 7’ with a 7’7 wingspan

Bukky Oboye: 7’1 with a 7’4 wingspan

Emeka Opurum: 7’ with a 7’9 wingspan

not sure if Opurum sticks, but that is a wild front court.

If I were in charge I'd spend the rest of the extra NIL on a 3, a combo guard that can give minutes at the 1 and 2 and a 3/4 with the flexibility to play both and then just fill in the rest of the with lower level guys that do at least one thing fairly well. That would give us a solid 8 man rotation and some specialty players that can fill in any gaps

So, hypothetically let's say we get Dowd as well this weekend and potentially Freeman from Creighton as a potential backup for the 4. If SWA does end up staying, could he move to the 3 instead? Defensively I think he could definitely handle that. Offensively, he struggled in the post with getting his shot blocked, it could be a more interesting dynamic spot for him.

1st String:
PG - Pettiford
SG - Overton
SF - SWA
PF - Dowd
C - Ngoy or Oboye

2nd string:
PG - Transfer
SG - Walker or Williams
SF - Transfer / Bowman / Williams
PF - Freeman / SWA
C - Oboye / Opurum

N King has changed his tune on Opurum being able to play this season. Says the Dr's are optimistic he will be cleared. 3 guys that can block shots makes us much better defensively and allows us to be more aggressive on the perimeter
