Flanigan needs to step up. He has been virtually invisible all year long.
Our biggest problem is we play dumb for stretches every game. Some games it lasts longer than others.

Don’t love that Jabari wasn’t even in the equation other than being a distraction on the wing.

Even if Bruce thought Wen totally screwed up the last possession he would never say so in a presser.
Play design was poor should have screened with Flanigan to get Green going toward the basket on the ball in not passing it backwards into the back court. But I’m sure end of clock and end of half and game situations will be something the staff looks at.

Flanigan has been awful. I just don’t think he is healthy enough. Doesn’t help he is just lazy on D. He makes Bryce Brown look like a savvy defender.

Flan screwed up the last possession. He brought his much bigger defender into the play for no reason. He should’ve stayed parked on the wing.

OP updated. Always hard to do after a loss.
Look at the resume. 3 losses. 2 in overtime. 1 by 1 point. All losses away from home.
Let’s get back on track this week. Win both and we will be conference champs

It almost looked like the plan was for Green to drive the ball and throw it up to Kessler for the dunk, but that never materialized

Yep. Take care of business midweek and we essentially play for a championship next Saturday @UT

He makes A LOT of bone headed plays which shows he lacks a high basketball IQ. He gets by on athletic ability and some okay shooting.

I mean what the HELL is Flan doing here?
Posted on 2/19/22 at 4:29 pm to Smoke7024
It’s tough because didn’t he throw the ball in there?

He’s in the process of rolling behind Green. That brought his bigger defender into the play.
Posted on 2/19/22 at 4:34 pm to Smoke7024
Hell, Greene should have just shot that ??

It’s better than no shot at all.

Man what the heck. The play was a pick and role and we completely clogged the action.

Yeah rewatching it, Flanigan was an issue there. Justin Lee on twitter did say we were supposed to throw it to Kessler on the inbound and he was gonna hand it off to Green but it wasn’t there. That makes more sense.

Or disagreeing that Flanigan could have been in the way but he got stood up by his defender. Maybe he was supposed to circle around and back screen Castleton to get Kessler on a guard for the lob. Would make more sense. So unless we know the true play call let’s not place blame on anyone specific.
Like I mentioned before probably needed Green going to the basket for the entry pass and not a pass back into the back court. It cut the shot clock down to 3-4 seconds by the time we go in position to start the actual play.
