Ultimately I think it’s the roster.

So we won't have a good team next year?

We will be replacing a ton, hopefully not 10 again.

Have to retain the nucleus of guys even if some of them suck half the time. We need continuity.

Elyjah Freeman sported a -21 in the plus minus column tonight. That's impactful.

We haven't had the normal home whistle so far this season.

Overton was the difference tonight; not Hall's absence, and certainly not Magwood's absence. We had two players play to their ability.

This team is fragile as frick.

Just seems like we can’t ever get more than two guys that actually feel like playing ball in any given game.

This team is so lazy off the ball on both sides. Zero heart for 50% of the game.

Goes back to coaching.

This reminds me of parents building Generational wealth with their blood, sweat, and tears and the offspring blows the inheritance all in a year.

Rankings

NET 34
KenPom 33

Solidly still in the tournament but probably need to win 4 of the next 6. 3 and 3 would put us on the bubble.

This middle 3rd of the conference season has been brutal definitely dropped a couple we shouldnt have and won a huge one at UF we probably shouldn’t have.

I haven’t checked but we are probably on the 9 line currently in seeding. Our strength of schedule is our saving grace.

More like a sign of the times when you have to recruit 10 mercenaries and hope they stay happy and gel

You keep saying that but people like Miya and others say otherwise.

As I said last week if we are in we are in by the skin of our teeth if we are even in.

Now, we get to visit the Hump next which is usually a nice basketball atmosphere and they have a high motor bulldog at PG. Not a great place to FAFO

It should not sit right with anyone that Bruce retires the day prior to practice beginning… tired of AU being used and abused by multiple coaching groups and now NIL. To survive as a true competitor we are going to need intelligent leadership

There are 3 camps

1- The biggest defacto camp- Dont forget who we were Camp- This camp could watch Bruce pull out a glock and murder an assistant at half court and this camp will still harken back to the Barbee days.

2- The What can we do about it camp- This is the camp Bruce aimed to engage by waiting until the first day of practice.

3- There is another a camp- a small band of brAUthers that love Bruce, Auburn, America, and apple pie, and still say what Bruce pulled was dogshit

I mean, this camp isn't as small as you think. I think a decent chunk of people thought how this went down was BS. And most of the roster of basketball players probably number among those people.

Which was why it was dumb for Bruce to pull that stunt to begin with. He put his son in an extremely tough spot from a coaching players perspective. Combine that with a poorly constructed roster and you have the mess we are in.

If Bruce had let Steven go to a mid major and have some success he'd have probably been hired anyway as Auburn's coach after Bruce. Now if he doesn't make the tournament next year he'll be lucky to see year three with an impatient fanbase due to how things went down. And if that happens Steven's career may be over before it starts.

At any rate, we pretty much need 5 of 6 to close things out to make the tournament. And while the schedule is favorable for that, this team seems far more likely to drop one of the road games than finish winning 5 of 6.
