Yea, I’d say just have two winners.
In this case there'd be more like 6 winners, if you go by what CorchJay wrote on the Vandy thread because there was at least that many who were only 2 points off.
CorchJay has to be super self absorbed to believe I created these rules so that he couldn't win, I honestly couldn't care less if he won every single prediction thread. But I believe if multiple posters came within the same MOE there should be some sort of tie breaker otherwise we could just say there were too many people who came within the same MOE so there will be no winners this week. Would that be any better?
I'm not married to this tie breaking rule as it's currently stated, but I haven't seen anyone come up with anything else other than there should be no tiebreaker. Which I would just say there were no winners that week cause a lot of posters tied.
Which is why I wrote that I hope there are no more ties this year so I can avoid this heated debate.

You’re good AUF15. I think this quasi competition means much more to corch than he lets on and he’s known to have some main character syndrome
He’s my boy and I’ll ride for him, but that MF is bananas

I think having the fourth win meant more than the actual competition.
Corch is good. That much cannot be denied.

Can’t deny it. It’s impressive

Just competitive. Everything is about winning and losing in life. I play to win. As long as I’m not compromised to cheat then I find it the best way to live life.
It’s very common among coaches to be like that. That’s why some of the dumb questions beat writers ask coaches they get some aloof answer back because they have no affect on winning and losing. Who was it? Herm Edwards… “you play to win the game”.
I carry that to every day. Just like some of my practices when coaching the players would complain about doing bunting drills for 30 minutes rotations. My motto was always…. “ we don’t do it until we get it right, we do it until we never get it wrong”

Correct. And don’t just come up with shite out of your arse after the fact to decide a winner. What’s wrong with having 6 winners as opposed to 3? None.
So now we have a tie breaker ok good. Now we all know but making up rules after the fact seems like a ridiculous way to do anything.
But the over thing is the most sketchy of all. Like Jang said it encourages to short the pick so you don’t go over situations like yesterday where multiple people picked scored very similar.

There was no tie breaker earlier because A) Honor was the one doing this up until recently and B) this was the first tie since I took over so there wasn't a need for it yet.
As I've said over and over again, we can do a different tiebreaker other than the over or whatever, no one has given an alternative yet other than there being no tiebreaker.
So either there's no tiebreaker and there's no winner that week and it's declared a tie or someone can come up with a different tie breaker if they think of something better.
I'm tired of discussing this

23-20 Auburn wins on 43 yard FG from right hash as time expires.

So 27-10 for Vandy did not win even though the spread was off by 1 (17 instead of 16). Each teams individual predicted score is what counts?

The final score was 31-15, so your MOE was 9 pts (4 points off Auburn and 5 off Vandy) so it's whoever comes closest to the final score and without going over on either teams score.
So 31-13 and CorchJay's 32-16 (and a few others) were both a MOE of 2. As I said in the OP I chose the 31-13 cause it was tied with the lowest MOE and it didn't go over on either team
( 32-16 was one higher on both teams, meanwhile 31 was exactly the score of Auburn and 13 was 2 under Vandy's score) it seems my tie breaker isn't very popular with several posters ( CorchJay being the most notable cause he thinks I'm trying to cheat him out of a win for some reason.)
I'm all ears on a different tie breaker, but I think in the event of a tie ( or in this case a very large tie) needs to be broken or broken as much as possible.
If no tie breaker then I just assume to say that there's no clear cut winner and deem that week a tie. I'm fine with either.
I'm just tired of hashing this out over and over again, either we keep the tiebreaker the way I have it , we create a different tie breaker, or we just deem that week a tie with no winner. I'm fine with either I just want this debate to finally end.
