I am upset because this delays Gus' firing.
Early signing day is December 16, so timing sucks for that as well.

We aren’t firing Gus this year I can promise you this.

KJ Britt should be available when we play again. That's a plus...

I missed most of the last 3 of 4 games because we had a meet and we had a bye last weekend and now this now that my season is over

I’m pretty mad about this. Felt like Miss State and Tennessee were setting up as very winnable games, and an opportunity for Auburn to gain more continuity, more reps, and more confidence leading into Alabama.
Back to back bye weeks just leads to potential rust going into Tennessee and less time to work out any kinks before Bama.
I guess we had been lucky to dodge any cancellations so far, but frick Leach and Miss State. Feel like this has a negative impact on any momentum we could gain all because he can’t keep his team in line.
Also, I had already hammered Auburn -14.
/Rant

Are you aware that there is all sorts of wizardry these days to record live events?

No point. I watch them live. It's not 1986 where you could record a game on a VCR and not hear about it from 50 people on social media and alerts.
My ex does that shite and it's maddening because nobody can speak to her about anything related to the game.

I'm with you. This absolutely delayed Gus being fired after the '21 season, to at least after the '21 season.

Bad news is that Gus will have a junior qb, sophomore rb and an OL with 6 starters returning. He will earn another year in 2021.

If that happens, we run the risk of going into Tennessee/FSU type rebuilding.
His recruiting will finish outside the top 20 this year as well as next year.
That is Kentucky level recruiting and it puts the new coach in a big hole.
The administration needs to do the right thing for Auburn and negotiate this buyout down for both party’s sake.

We’re 20th now (about 13th in average rating) with only 13 commits. We could finish this class with 3*’s and finish pretty comfortably in the top 15. That’s just how the numbers happen to break this season.
I’ll admit, though, that a #15 finish this season would be quite lower than the 5-6 spot drop would suggest. There’s typically a wide margin between a top 10ish class and a 15ish class, which I think is your main argument here. The difference in #8-9 and #14-15 are the guys we’ve seen commit to our rivals this past month. That’s a huge difference in itself

Right you are Jones, dropping to 15th hurts, and the fact we only have 13 recruits. Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Florida are all ranked 7th or better and have between 18 and 25 recruits. And the pickins left aint great, least the ones we have a chance at.
Worse yet, we have once again failed on the OL front, sure its better than last year or two, but thats not a very high bar to surpass, particularly when you look at GA and AL recruits the past couple of years. There is a reason GA was throwing around our DL like rag dolls, and it will be no different with AL (with the exception their QB will be tossing TDs at will on us).

Why would Gus agree to negotiate the buyout down?

Is that the same week as the SEC Championship game?
