They were definitely trying to conserve his energy. They weren't having him defend the inbounds or anything. He plaid 15 minutes total. I love seeing him actually boxing guys out to get rebounds

Glad we won. Missed free throws in the waning minutes are inexcusable though. Was the female announcer correct when she said Jared Harper was shooting 58% from the line?

Probably right. I don't think he's shooting them well. Purifoy is our best FT shooter and we have him inbounding the ball. I didn't get that at all.

On FT shooting, we're doing way better as a team this year than we have in the past. It sucks having Heron miss so many towards the end, but we wouldn't have even been in position to win the previous few years in the same situation.

Yeah... at one point we were 21-24 on FTs with Wiley having the misses (he's got really good touch for a big guy btw)... we just gotta be more clutch down the stretch.

We need to build around Wiley. He drew some double teams and got to the line a couple times just by posting up.

The most exciting thing is the returning roster for next year.

PG- Harper
SG- Brown
SF- Heron
PF- Purifoy
C- Wiley

I'm hoping we can develop enough offensive weapons to where we can rely on Bryce to be a spot up 3 shooter only. He's not very good driving to the basket. But he can be deadly on the catch and shoot.

+McLemore, Lang, Spencer and the incoming Freshmen off the bench.

I really like what Smith did today. He should get more minutes. Play him at 4 with Purifoy at 3 and Wiley at 5.

Today was far from great but got out of it with a win. Really hoping moving forward this offense starts running through Wiley. He's gonna draw double teams and give wide open shots to our guys. Was good to see us try and get it to him a few times but there were some other chances we missed. Either way for a kid that is only 17 years old and had 2 days of practice that was a hell of a debut

Yes. Way better than Reeds debut against Clemson 2 years ago if you remember. He actually didn't look too lost out there to me. I think that speaks to his basketball IQ and instincts.

Horace posted to his Instagram hinting he will be playing next game. I'm guessing that means Bryce will be back too.

I suspect for Oklahoma all the suspensions will be over

Wins in the next 2 games would be so big for this program. I know both teams are a bit down this year but beating names like Oklahoma and Connecticut would make some noise

Well Eastern European league is pro I guess. We dont have any NBA players on our roster. Not one of them would get drafted. That being said after next year they may, but not this year.
