I can't lie I cracked up seeing the white caboose come in

Is New Williams hurt again? He hasn't played in either game

Maybe it's been discussed but I don't ever remember seeing 5 players with the numbers 1-5 on the court at one time. Lol
Unless I missed a number in front of one of these numbers?
Well when Spencer on floor it can be 0-4
Great win against a solid team. We are doing what we are supposed to do to start year. Love that first game it was brown and heron carrying team then today Harper and purifoy. We aren't reliant on 1 or 2 guys to win anymore

I always appreciate the sarcastic cheers when the white guys come in

GSU looked like a more athletic team than UNF
GSU looked every bit as sloppy as we did, with players looking lost/lack of cohesion. I'd bet they are going to end up looking pretty good by the end of the year

That's the most encouraging thing... not relying on one to carry us offensively. Purifoy had foul trouble in the 1st half but we still built a lead, despite not playing well.... knew we'd starting hitting some shots in he 2nd half.

I just saw the second half, but looked as expected. Sloppy play interrupted by some spurts of good basketball. Reason for optimism, but also caution.
The best thing about this team is the depth and number of scorers. We don't have to have 1 guy go for 30 to win.

There is a ridiculous amount of just raw potential on this team.

I know New played against Montevallo, I can't remember about UNF

Pearl is damn good scout. We all know he can recruit, but even the 3*s he recruits like Harper and McLemore are as good as freshman as a 3* under Barbee or Lebo would've been as a senior.
I swear Barbee would have AU 0-2 right now

Harper
While I generally agree with what your saying, Harper was a top 50 player in the country.

New isn't in the rotation. I wouldn't be surprised if he transfers.
Posted on 11/14/16 at 11:39 pm to Smoke7024
Even if New is healthy now, he hasn't been healthy enough to even practice at a high level in 3-4 years. It is going to take time for him to work back in and be comfortable on that knee
New definitely has path to being in the rotation next year if healthy and playing wel. Those unfortunately are big ifs

Maybe. I just don't see where he'll fit. We're good at PG with Harper and Mitchell next year. We'll lose Dunans, but get Murray. Brown and Lang are back. He's going to have to beat someone out. I don't know who that would be.

Anyone know the story behind LaRon and Georgia State? Apparently Purifoy said in a post game interview that they were playing for him because they treated him poorly at GSU.

There's an Al.com article on him. Evidently he barely played.

Any way Harper runs point and Mitchell play SG? How tall is Mitchell?

He played 17 min compared to 21min by Spencer. Something like a 50-50 split at the 5 was expected by most

Mitchell is a 6'2 combo guard so technically yes he could be a SG. Size wise he should be like Bryce Brown
Bruce has made it clear though that he sees Mitchell as one of his future PGs

Murray is a PF/C frontcourt player, not a backcourt player

If we keep Purifoy as a stretch 4, New Williams just has to be top 6 of the following group of 7. That isn't a longshot by any means given time in system + athleticism
N. Williams
J. Harper
D. Mitchell
B. Brown
M. Heron
C. Okeke
T. Lang

Did Lang return after rolling his ankle last night? I saw him hobble off to the locker room but wasn't really paying close attention to the game. I rarely know who's on the floor...just casually watch the game.
