Yea usually on the read option kids are coached to (1) know down and distance and (2) when in doubt, give it to the RB
On the 2 yard line you give it to the RB unless the read man is crashing HARD and you're about to walk in... even then giving to the RB is usually fine. Nobody's gonna yell at you about giving it to the RB.
Read option isn't that easy to run. Takes a bunch of reps to get a feel for the mesh and get the reads right out of a bunch of defensive looks.
