I would assume over the next couple of days we will start hearing some name start to pop up for assistant jobs. Hopefully have the staff completed by the beginning of next week to hit the trail to finish off this years class.

What's everyone's thoughts on the strength and conditioning? Time for a change from Russell?

Ryan Russell was actually at Boise State for 2-3 seasons while Harsin was the OC, so it's not a given that he's going to be replaced.

I'm not sure I have an opinion on Russell myself. Seems we stay healthy for the most part. The SEC is physical so an occasional ankle, shoulder, knee is always going to be an issue.

I know we do a lot of plyometric stuff. Would like to see more power based stuff incorporated for greater strength but that isn't be all end all.

Yeah after all the injuries Friday, that falls squarely on the S&C coach not prepping enough--although they had less practice and it was apparently close to 100 degrees on the turf. They weren't prepared for it

Like every 3 plays someone was getting injured, maybe backups but even Nix was out for a couple of Sandberg plays due to either heat exhaustion or something.

I am sure little bowl prep had more to do with that than our S&C coach.

A few posters that supposedly have some legit sources on the Bunker seem to think hiring Dell is very close to happening. One even saying that an announcement could come as early as noon today. TIFWIW

Agreed. And after 3 weeks of no practice we probably didn't even have contact the 3 days we did practice.

Putting 2 and 2 together here, several on the Boise State board (including what appears to be a reputable poster with sauces) are saying that Eric kiesau (Harsin’s OC/QB coach at BS) is likely headed to Auburn. He has been co-OC in the past and has a WR coaching background.

Wonder if we are about to see Kiesau/McGee as
Co-OCs with McGee over the run game and Kiesau over the pass game. Seems like a nice move to me.

And somehow I trust the Boise State board more than an Auburn board without ever seeing it

Why would Dell come now when he didn't when AU's staff under Gus was stuffed with AU guys?

Something go down at UGA? Or he doesn't like the direction of use of the running backs there? They will be throwing the ball more going forward. Trying to be like bama or LSU from last year. Yes they can have a good role for an all purpose back but big true running backs unless they have great hands won't be a high priority. That's just my guess.

For me the biggest addition will be the subtraction of Kodi. Great Auburn man. But hell I'm a good auburn man as well and I shouldn't be the WR coach at AU.

The story here is that Dell McGee wanted to come but Gus Malzahn botched it and snuffed him. Once he blew up as an elite coach on Georgia's staff, the damage was already done. With a new head coach coming in, that window is now open again. A move to Auburn would also likely include a "Co-OC" title and salary bump, so it would be a progression upwards for him as well as an opportunity to learn under an offensive-minded HC (as I assume he has plans to try to progress into an OC role eventually).
