Apologies to Payton Thorne

The guy took a lot of criticism from our fans, me included, but it turns out that Freeze can’t coach QB’s no matter who they are. No wonder Thorne looked confused and low-energy in the postgame interviews. He must have been thinking, “my coach is retarded…why did I come here?”

Let’s not confuse the fact that a bad coach and bad QB are not mutually exclusive.
Thorne sucked too

Yeah but a lot of coaches could have won 7-9 with last years team. Hugh stumbled into 5.

A lot of that was on Thorne and our kicker getting sick. That said, Freeze has sucked and I don't know if he has it in him to stop sucking.

Thorne sucked at MSU too. No apologies necessary

Yep, Thorne got crap for the turnovers but obviously he was trying to make plays where there were none to be made. Cost us a lot but at least we usually scored a couple of touchdowns. New guy is the opposite, nothing to work with and happy just to eat it.
Both will lead to a lot of frustration and a lot of losses and we'll get some version of it until we have a new HC.

He single handedly cost us a game by not simply kneeling the ball.

Anyone see a pattern? I don’t know if it is Freeze not being able to find a good QB or that a good QB will not come play in such a terrible offense with such crappy coaching. I lean the latter.

It looks like he actively makes our QBs worse.

Cristobal?

In obvious passing downs, the defense peels their ears back and rushes the QB. If every down is an obvious passing down, this is what you get.
I'm pissed and I have a shite load of bourbon in the cabinet.

It's hard to be that stupid but Hugh may want me to hold his beer.

Thorne suffered from the same problems Arnold is suffering from—a terrible OL. I’m not saying either QB is a world beater, but they get no help from our pathetic OL.

Thorne > Arnold
This is damn crazy world.
Listen, Hugh is a crap coach. His offense is played out and wasn’t that great even when he was at Ole Miss. we ran off a better offensive coach to find better and we regressed and then regressed again.
The PTB better step back and take a long look in the mirror and realize they cannot identify a good coach,
