You sound like you are trying to get you're first piece of tail.

Everyone should realize that the PTB have made up their minds. They still want to be in control of the football program and are going to hire the guy that will let them. If they were going to get out of the way and let a "splash" hire guy run the thing they would have fired JJ and TJ the day they booted Chiz.

My guess is a Tuesday Press Conference. There is a pecking order.

1) Jimbo.
2) take your pick
3) Petrino, Smart, Malzahn

Interviews will happen on Sunday and Negotiations on Monday.

The committee is sold on Jimbo,, but if he tells us no, I think we go for a compromise candidate (non Petrino, Smart or Malzahn). I hope that the Creed Thumpers back off and hire the best coach available after we hear no From Jimbo and another candidate (Patterson, Sumlin)

That's my point though. If they know Petrino is the guy, and these are just courtesy interviews, then why the dog and pony show? Why drag Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan into the middle of it? Is it because Jacobs is a complete worthless frick and they need beloved AU people to take the flack if Jacobs fricks up?

thats certainly a concern.

I don't see a problem with being impatient. I fully expect jj to frick it up so might as well get it over with.

I don't think any of that is accurate. But maybe you're right.

I would not be disappointed with Jimbo. But I think 4 mil a year should get you a better guy.

Kirby is trolling too. He's about to become the highest paid assistant in the nation. I'm pretty sure we end up with a one year Taggart style coach who gets canned along with Jacobs next year.

pretty much how i feel about it. Not saying he's a bad coach, just not convinced he'd do anything at auburn worth recognition.

It's Friday now and the only man for sure we know who has been interviewed..okay we think we know, is Charlie Strong. Meanwhile, it has been said that Cal has interest in Petrino. Arkansas is after Peterson or Patterson, and if they don't get either their backup plan is just the same as ours, Gus Malzahn. Tennessee is just starting to realize that Gruden is a pipe dream, and so they'll be after a big name as well or perhaps settle for Larry Fedora. NC State from what I'm hearing is hiring Sonny Dykes.

So lets say in the worst case scenario, Arkansas settles for Malzahn, Petrino gets fed up with being thrown around by Jacobs & CO. and goes to Cal, Tennessee hires Fedora or some other name, and we're left with Patterson, Peterson, two Fishers, and a Strong all just simply playing us for bigger contract.

Who does that leave us? Kirby Flipping Smart? Willie Taggart? The time is now to make a new hire, I worry about what will happen if we wait.

I'd be disappointed with Jimbo, and if we gave him $4M, I'd throw up. If we're going to give $4M/a year to a coach, Patterson or Petersen better be the one having the press conference.

Rumors are out now that Georgia Tech and the B1G are flirting. That would actually be a good fit and a great move for Tech.

The ACC is falling apart in front of everyone's eyes. Pretty soon they'll be the Big East plus UNC and Duke (and a few others) because they'll continue to raid the Big East to fill their gaps.

Jimbo is smart enough to see this. He's lost Mark Stoops now and likely a couple of defensive coaches that will follow Stoops.

If he's gonna hit the eject button, now is the time. If he doesn't, he'll go down in flames with the ACC.

This is obviously within the realm of possibility.

But the fact that a lot of you guys prefer and choose to be utterly miserable throughout this entire process is fricking hilarious.

Jimbo could come into play at Tennessee if he really wants out of the ACC.

I still can't believe Mark Stoops went to Kentucky that's where your career goes to die.
