for some reason this year, I don't care to watch the games, don't even know when they are playing, and don't even care to look it up.

I have always been a huge BBall fan.

Not completely. If we can get the bullshite sorted out and get our players back in time to be ready for conference play, we still have a chance at having a tournament team.

Everyday it drags on though, the more my interest is dampened.

I start caring when the SEC schedule starts, then slowly lose interest as we fall down the standings

I will become more interested in basketball once we get through the IB and god willing to the SECCG. That's assuming Bruce is still the coach. I like the energy he brings to the program.

Well it's hard to care when the university is self imposing sanctions

Makes it hard to drive in for games with this cloud over the program. Not sure if I'm going to make the trek for the Winthrop game

Way damn too much drama for the extremely low pay-off (I mean metaphorically, Coach Person) at this point.

I'm in a "show me first" mindset. Not much expectation

I will always follow our basketball team, just with about 60% of the passion that I have for AU football. Nothing against the team or the sport, just always been a football guy.

Me. I have....It started for me last year. I can't stand to watch the product Pearl puts on the floor. There is no player development, no discipline, no fundamentals. It's literally hard to watch our 4* and 5* players constantly out rebounded, out shot, and out worked. The defense we play is some of the worse I've ever seen. Teams like Hofsta and Carolina Upstate should not score 80 on our teams. We're often beaten by teams with far less star power. I do appreciate Pearl's enthusiasm and what he's done to re-energize our program but if you take a look around the SEC it looks like everyone else is moving forward, getting better, and making strides. On the other hand since Pearl has gotten here we've hung our hat on "maybe next year" and "hopefully we can land this player or this transfer". If we're going to win 15-20 games a year I rather do it with sharp shooters, defense, and 3* kids that develop into great players by the time they leave. Don't get me wrong I love getting the Purifoy's , Chumas, and Wiley's but does it even matter if we don't play defense and shoot 4 of 25 ?

u hit the nail on the head. Same thing, different year. defense is all about effort. I am ready to start recruiting basketball players and not athletes.

Lol...

Our program has been trending in the right direction since Pearl showed up. We have won more games than we did last year exactly once since '03.

Everything was trending steadily upward.. until Chuck got busted by the feds for steering pro prospects to certain financial advisers for kickbacks.

Pearl has made great strides but it is hard to see where we go from here.

Yes last year was a step forward. People were just upset there was no postseason. The program definitely was trending in the right direction before Person’s deal.
