How is TJ’s ankle? He will be the guy. Harsin isn’t taking a chance at a new QB and a bowl loss, and losing record in his first year.

Its amazing how often we have that opinion of bowl games. Till you lose them

I think us starting the year off with our cupcake games at the beginning, hurt his chances to play this year. If we had some late cupcakes or could have gotten ahead of someone, he may have gotten a chance to play late.

But early on, Harsin was trying to build the starters

i doubt he plays, but i would love it if he got some reps. we know TJ isn't the guy so logically it would make sense to just see what he's got, but i'm not sure Harsin is thinking the same way as a lot of us are. i guess we'll see in a couple of weeks.

I'd like to see one kid play the first half and the other kid play the second half. Keep the ones in at every other position and see what happens. Treat it like an A-Day game. I really don't give a frick if we win or lose the Bham Bowl after a 6 win season.

Heard the same thing about Kyler Murray

The same thing has also been said about hundreds of QBs before Kyler Murray. Those QBs didn’t make it.

Murray is the exception not the rule. But put him out there see what he does. Have no problem with that.

I somewhat agree. Season was a dumpster fire in an odd numbered year and there really isn’t anything to play for. 6-7 is basically synonymous to 7-6. Plus, if there is a 7 win bonus for Harsin, I’d rather he not get it. He doesn’t deserve a bonus.

Honestly, he’s just as mobile with the ankle injury as without. He’s a statue in the pocket, has awful pocket presence and plays much smaller than 6’7, 250 when he comes to getting yards on the ground.

We should’ve known he would be bad when Auburn destroyed LSU last year while he was starting.

I think coach Harsin has one thing on his mind. Win the bowl game. Thats it. He is not looking for what could be next year. He knows the history of our previous coach and the complaints with him. Win the bowl game with the best guy you have. If TJ is still here, it will be him unless we are either way ahead of behind.

Fans are always the ones who love to throw out the ideas of just let em play. Doesnt matter.

It matters and coaches know it. Harsin does not want his first season to be 6-7

It matters.

I hope he gets his coveted 7th win.

Playing young guys for the experience would actually be productive.

This is the time to melt.

hailtothechiz either doesn’t give a frick about Auburn football or isn’t paying attention to the projection of Auburn in comparison to the rest of the SEC West.

Playing young guys for the "experience" is productive IF they are part of your future plans. There is zero indication that Davis is in any plans to be the starter at Auburn. If we're being serious here, they will bring in another transfer. Holden Geriner is their "young" guy and will lap Davis.

They'll care that day, then forget about it either way. If we were that worried about bowl records, then Gus would've been gone long ago.

Couldnt agree more. Your posts are starting to be more along the lines of my thinking. People around here wont like that. There is a lot of anger in honest posts where you dont tell people what they want to hear but what is the truth. I respect that

You may replace Jones as my second favorite posters soon. Right behind Rocky of course.

But honestly, agree. There has been no indication that Davis is going to be the guy.

True and he is playing a Houston team that is a good team (11-2) so yeah beating them in a normal year might not be impressive but loosing to them or even being blown out would just be flat our embarrassing and that could happen if we played players "for the future". Then those that complain about recruiting will point to that game as will the media, etc. and it will be used against us in future recruiting. So yeah he kinda has to win this one.
