Yeah, I've wanted Kiffin back when we hired Gus, wanted Kiffin when we hired Harsin, wanted Kiffin when we hired Hugh.
I'm not sure this round, I know Kiffin isn't coming.

I was pissed off the day Freeze was hired and it never subsided. frick the assholes at AU that stole my joy of watching Auburn football. It’s infuriating to watch a great program get run into the ground over the course of 20 years. Until I see the program step up and make a serious hire instead of dumpster diving for head coach, I won’t take the program seriously.

I wanted Kiffin or Freeze. Did not want the side show/it's all about Deion that inherently comes with Deion...sorry, just do not like his style and don't think it's a fit for Auburn.
I do remember thinking at some point in the Harsin era, or maybe when frustration was growing with Gus, that Hugh would land at Auburn.
Relative to their history to that point, he did pretty well at Ole Miss, won at Liberty, and developed a Gus castoff QB into an NFL QB. I still think he looked like a good candidate on paper.
Maybe he's just tired. Maybe the trauma of hi Ole Miss dismissal did lasting damage (even self-inflicted trauma is still trauma).
Clearly, he was a mistake, and I'm happy that Auburn is moving on, but I do wish him well and hope he can focus on his health.

Looking at the old threads was a kick in the nuts. All the threads about Lane's imminent annoucement. He was meeting with his players... etc.

Freeze was near the bottom of my wish list. That being said, just as I initially supported Harsin 100% until word started getting out that he had no idea what he was doing coaching college football in the southeast, I will support Freeze as well.
But, by all means, those who have the notion should feel free to whine and cry until their pea-pickin’ little hearts are content.

FTR, not a 'hater.' AU sold out because someone high up thought he'd win. i'm embarrassed by the compromise. he should have been considered a no-go on principle alone and we didn't even get the wins.
