I confess , I’m disliking Harsin more and more as time goes on and I am less inclined to believe he wasn’t intentionally trying to sabotage the program from very early on.
At the start, I felt pretty confident, wanted to give him the benefit of a doubt. I even thought he was possibly unfairly victimized by internal politics. Whether true or not, the product on the field spoke for itself.
Of course, others know far better than I do what really went on. But I tried to give the guy a fair shake. Yet here he is still yapping like a scorned little B.

from very early on.
And I like people from Idaho.

I have nothing against people from Idaho. I just wish that Auburn had looked elsewhere for a head football coach.

I think this is 100% accurate. I don’t think Hardashian or the coaches he brought with him had any idea of how to navigate or compete in the snake pit that is the SEC.
He took the criticism personally and just stubbornly refused to change adapt or even try. I do think at some point he just stopped caring and gave AU the middle finger.

Waiting for his book to come out. "How to Screw Up a Football Program in 3 Easy Steps".

It's beyond hilarious and ironic that he jibber jabbers about how hard he works when it's very clear that he didn't have the work ethic it takes to make it in the SEC. To be an SEC coach you need to be insanely passionate about football and winning to the point where it's an obsession.
NOBODY gets it easy recruiting in the SEC. It's 24/7/365. People love to say places like Alabama and Georgia just recruit themselves but it's not true. Those programs recruit nationally, have some of the biggest recruiting budgets in the country, and you won't catch either of them just hanging in town watching the local HS week after week on Fridays.

I agree. Coaching SEC football is extremely demanding. Competing with the best schools for recruits requires tremendous time and effort. Unfortunately we have seen what happens when a coach doesn't make that effort.

I’m not even sure who you’re referring to? Me?

Yea and Swanee (College of the south) is a very high academic school as well. Tough to get accepted.
Fun fact of the day. Sewanee was a charter member of the old Southern Conference, the predecessor of the SEC -and- a charter member of the SEC, leaving in 1940.

I don't think they won a conference game during their time in the SEC. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I dont know who has been following Harsin on twitter, but he has ditched blaming Auburn itself. He is carrying the torch against the covid mandates that affected him now.

If we hired Freeze in late 2020 instead of that clown show we would be headed to the playoff this year.

i dont think overall he is a bad guy. I didnt like him as coach and he was way over his head. The two knocks on him coming to Auburn was that he didnt like to recruit and he did not get along with people. Ironic
I think once he got a taste of the Auburn medeling and the fan base turned on him, he said frick yall, pay me and I will be out of this place. And I somewhat do not blame him. He got attacked fast. He was probably not expecting that
Over all he is probably a decent football coach. Just not the guy for this kind of job

As long as he stays in a pitiful third rate conference like the Mountain West he should be ok. Not sure if he could even get a job there after ruining our football program.

Bo Nix is playing right now. He is doing well so far.

If anything short of a pro bowler Jville will claim a win

I have no clue how Bo will do but I have to think its going to be easier to be decent with Payton when the overall QB standard has dipped a bit. Somehow Geno Smith is still a starter. On the other hand players can be great college players but that not translate to the NFL. I am proud of Bo and I am proud to pound the table for Bo no matter what he does.

I was quite impressed with his performance. I am glad to see him doing well.

It was the right move for him.
And AU.....Without hardly a word he exposed the lack of talent on the field, off the field, in the press, and with fans. I'm impressed... wasn't then.
