I was good until he started playing down recruiting and suggesting his vetting process and coaching up would negate talent advantages. Any coach that EVER says this in the modern SEC is a narcissistic fool destined for failure. Harsin turned out to be all that and worse.

I heard about this on JOX during lunch today and one of the guys had a good point: The Athlon guys should go talk to Derek Mason and ask him if he wants to go on record about his time at Auburn. Or some of the AL/GA HS coaches in the state and see if they would like to go on record about their relationship with Harsin while he was at Auburn.
Mason or someone like Mike Bobo probably wouldn't because they have too much to lose in their professional lives. Plus, they probably just have too much class to get down in the mud with Harsin, but man, it would be great if they did.
Does he really want to go down the rabbit hole of just how incredibly shitty he was at being a head coach in the SEC? I don't think he does if he looks deep inside his fragile ego.

That is actually not true. I have a good friend who coached at the old Swanee school in Tennessee. He said recruiting was brutal. Nothing to offer but the school. No goodies.

Yea and Swanee (College of the south) is a very high academic school as well. Tough to get accepted.
You have to somehow find a kid that has the grades to get it and is good athletically to help you but not good enough to get a D2 scholarship. He said it was just a tough task
