This is from other sites. (I am good with either choice)
Utah State athletics director John Hartwell
Interim athletics director Rich McGlynn
Others are possible (I assume TJ), but appears to be a two team race. did mention that Bruce and Butch like Rich, so he has that in his favor.
Fleeced from a poster.
-Lifelong Auburn fan (Grew up in Mobile, UMS Wright)
-D1 basketball player at The Citadel
-4 years of Big 8 (80's) public accounting experience
-Assistant Athletic Director at Ole Miss
-Athletic Director at Troy for 3 years. Hired Neil Brown at Troy.
-Athletic Direct at Utah State for the past 8 years.
-$40MM Annual Budget
-All sports extremely competitive
-Graduation rates are on track
-Testified before Congress two years ago on the issue of Name, Image and Likeness
-Understands NIL more than most and understands the importance of creativity in terms of maximizing NIL opportunities for the student athletes
-Deep rooted ties with the SEC office
-Relationships with the bowl games
-Relationships in government at the state level in Alabama and the national level in Washington D.C.
-Adept at fundraising and recognizes the importance of developing relationships throughout the alumni base
-AD experience helps with the not so glamorous side of the job including managing budgets, dealing with Title IX issues, sexual harassment issues, etc. that require a skill set that only gets developed thru experience
-Although he loves Auburn, he brings a fresh, independent perspective to Auburn that provides a chance to unify the various factions of our splintered fan base

I have heard Hartwell's name for awhile now.

Agreed. I like Rich but for this role Hartwell seems like the obvious choice.

This got lost in the coaching search thread, but this was pertinent info from his Utah State Bio
quote:
Prior to being the Director of Athletics at Troy, Hartwell spent nine-plus years at the University of Mississippi, where he was the Senior Executive Associate Athletics Director, serving as the number two administrator in athletics.
Hartwell served as the Treasurer and Chief Operating Officer of the Mississippi Athletic Association Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization that generated over $17 million annually for the Ole Miss Athletics Department through priority seating and major gifts.
He was responsible for the day-to-day administrative oversight of the football, men’s basketball and baseball programs, along with sport oversight of the softball and men’s and women’s track & field and cross country programs. Hartwell also oversaw the Rebels’ business office, ticket office, equipment room, merchandise sales, concessions and football scheduling. Hartwell scheduled several marquee football games for the Rebels, including a home-and-home series with Texas that began in 2012.
Hartwell managed the growth of the Ole Miss athletic budget from $26 million in the 2003 fiscal year to over $47 million in the 2012 fiscal year. He also chaired the search to hire men’s basketball head coach Andy Kennedy in 2006. He was heavily involved in negotiations that increased revenues with contracts for apparel and footwear (Nike), merchandise sales (Sports Avenue/LIDS), concessions (Centerplate), wireless provider (C Spire) and video boards (Daktronics). He served on the Southeastern Conference Ticket Committee and started the annual SEC Chief Financial Officers Forum.

Hartwell looks like a great choice.

Hartwell would be a good choice.
The question is do you have Rich fire Harsin as the Interim AD so Hartwell starts with a clean slate?

Wasn't Hartwell one of the men who spoke to congress with relation to NIL?
I may be wrong but wasn't Freeze and Luke HC during Hartwells tenure as AD? Luke is by nature an Offense Line coach correct?
Interesting!

I want John Hartwell

He understands the Auburn climate.
He also invited Deion to speak to his team in 2019.

He left Ole Miss to go to Troy for his first AD job in 2012.

Does anybody know anything about Hartwell’s programs (at USU, etc) other than Auburn ties and NIL testimony to Congress? The later two points are pretty well known at this point.

Hartwell was never AD at Ole Miss. He was in Finance in the AD there.
