...we weren't the only ones who were pissed we let them score
quote:

“I feel like we shouldn't have let up any points,” said fourth-year junior defensive end Carl Lawson

Fellow defensive end Marlon Davidson was equally frustrated. "We lost our focus," said Davidson, the Tigers’ stud freshman. "We took our foot off their throat and let up some big plays. That's our mistake, but we will get that corrected.”

Cornerback Carlton Davis said the defense didn’t regroup until a fiery speech from a teammate jarred them back to the present. “We came out kind of lackadaisical, but our senior, Josh Holsey, called us up and told us that this is not the way we’re supposed (to play),” Davis said, “and that we had to finish the game.”

But that wasn’t good enough for Tre' Williams. He and his defensive teammates, Williams admitted, “got complacent” in the second half following its stingy showing in the first 30 minutes. Williams doesn't want to see a repeat of Saturday in the coming weeks. He vowed he wouldn't let it. "We’ve got to fix that," Williams said. "We’re not going to let it happen again."

Our defense is composed of a bunch of badasses that want to be great. They push each other to be better which we haven't seen on that side of the ball in awhile

It finally feels like we've got some legit potential NFL guys on the field... Lawson, Adams, Carlton Davis for sure... Davidson has high draft pick potential.

Deshaun Davis got hurt in the first half I believe... anyone know his status?

Rudy Ford is gonna be a pretty high pick at safety.

I apologize guys, the second half was my fault.

My gf wasn't in the room during the first half but was for the whole second half. Also, I ran to get food at halftime and changed shirts before I left but didn't change back when I got home.

I've been holding this shame in since Saturday please find it in your hearts to forgive me.

The best thing about this is most of our Defense will be back next year. Who all do we lose? Lawson, Monty, Ford, Holsey, Lawrence. Who am I missing?

Crazy thing is, of those listed Rudy Ford is the biggest loss. Marlon is likely to fill Carl's shoes with little-to-no drop off and same with Derrick Brown/Monty. Jamel Dean should be back at CB (if his glass bones dont break again( to fill Holsey roll. Need another safety/nickel to emerge or sign with us.

Biggest loss is probably the wrong way to phrase - Rudy is the one that we seemingly don't have the piece to replace him

Marlon has been great, but I don't think you appreciate just how much better Lawson is at the pass rush right now.

Lawson- 6 Sacks, 11 QB Hurries
Marlon- 2.5 Sacks, 1 QB Hurry

Davidson will be good, but I'd bet that Jeff Holland leads in sacks next season.

I think Holsey has been a key to this defense also.

The guy has been huge for us this year. A lot of people, myself included, were "meh" when he announced he was coming back after a med RS.

I'm stoked he did, Holsey, tCarlton and JBaby have been on point

Davidson is going to be awesome for us, just more of a really good at everything while not a dominating pass rush presence

Holland just looks like if he laid off the Jemarcus Russell diet he would be Arden Key 2.0. He is so close and that flubber around his waist makes me feel like that is the gap

I love watching this defense. I hate speaking in hypotheticals but we've given up 10 tds this season and I can think of 3 off the top of my head that were busted plays.

I'm anxious to see how we hold up against Ole Miss Arky and Bama. Not worried about UGA tbh

Maybe that Byron guy will have an epiphany in the off-season as well

No it is my fault, I wasn't able to watch the second half as we had a contractor in the house. Wasn't around for the second half.
