If Bo's last name weren't Nix he'd have never come here either. I'm glad Bo did what was best for him in the end, and grateful he gave us the chance he did. Sometimes I think he deserved more of an effort from Auburn to give him the best chance to experience success here

Amazing that USC has three top 20 5* recruits all from Georgia.

Huh?

Cam Newton
Nick Marshall
Sean White
Jeremy Johnson
Jarrett Stidham
Bo Nix

That’s 3 5star and 2 4star QBs.

Was the passing game what it was supposed to be? No, but clearly QB was a priority for Gus

Cam wasn't as HC. After Nick Gus never developed anyone. Stidham regressed under Gus.

Having a QB on the roster doesn't mean he made it a priority though. That's the 1st step, which Gus took. The steps following that are equally, or more, important. Those were NOT his priority

In regards to the surprise commit:

quote:

Please let it be Alvin

Well that would be a surprise wouldnt it

Did anyone else hear Pink and JLee mention Jared Smith, then Pink reiterated it. Second week in a row they have mentioned him. Hmmm

That's all I'm saying. It's just frustrating to see people act like change hasn't taken place. Folks are acting like Gus is still calling plays.

Changes certainly took place last year.

Walker White was also at the top of this staffs board. Gus and Harsin (rarely) got their top choice outside of Bo or kiehl Frazier.

Stidham was a big get. I think some concern is warranted though. Some of you throw it out like we dont even need a QB. One of the biggest positions we have been beat on by our rivals, which is why all this coaching changes started was to beat them, is the QB position.

We have been getting beat at that position for many years. The two times we have guys back there that could play, we did very well

Its only a discussion. Nobody stole anyones lunch money. We need a competent QB to run the show. Its important. I really thought coach would have been pushing very hard the entire recruiting cycle for a "dude" to fill that role and not wait till the summer before season started.

Personally, I thought we should have pushed hard for the kid from UGA that went to Kentucky.

Thorne is average in competence. He's not better than Stidham or Nix but he will be more productive in Hughs offense next year and I bet that means better numbers than Stidham and Bo put up.

The most familiar thing about last year's offense that goes back to 2015 is the passing offense being stuck in mud. Freeze is fixing that.

He never does post interviews. This is normal for him.

Correct. He doesn’t do post visit interviews. Plus the decision isn’t Juju’s to make. The father will make the decision. Juju has his 4 schools he likes and will be happy at any of them it seems.

Auburn has everything in it’s favor other then proof of concept on offense.

His dad has been shopping him around for years. His high school coach was the head coach at Carterville when Trevor Lawrence was there. The Jaguars tried to hire him as QB coach but his high school gig pays more. It's no accident or coincidence JuJu plays where he does

On3 thinks JuJu will take his recruitment into Oct to see what the on field product looks like for his top schools.

If it lasts that long, I doubt he comes to Auburn. We’ll have pushed for Lacey or Hawkins by then.
