UNLV just put out a statement on Sluka. His agent apparently came back and tried to hold them to ransom. They say they abided by the NIL, the NCAA.......and Nevada Laws.

Sounds like a veiled threat to sue his arse for breach of contract.

What a basket of snakes NIL is.

This is pure lawyer talk lol. They dont succumb to NIL pay for play NCAA violations? The only people that calls it pay for play are the snakes. The honest people still call it NIL.

We are talking 100,000 here. Not one million. Players don't abruptly quit for no reason at all. I'm not buying he wants to shop around after he just exited the portal market to land at UNLV from Holy Cross. Something happened that caused him to quit and since he wont be in the NFL, I dont blame him for playing for a team that will pay him since his teams use him like a RB as well.

That’s called an official visit and paid for by the school.

The school can only pay for one official visit. If he wants to come again, On to Victory would have to pay and it would not be an "official", because we can only offer it once to a player.

He said he got offered by an assistant coach, not the collective. So he's an idiot anyway because that's not how these deals work.

Well that would be a shocker. A college kid being an idiot and being told one thing but signing another.

I’m just saying the NIL deals are all forced to be behind closed doors deals and fans like to make judgments like we know everything about them. We don’t so I’m not going to villainize a kid or the school because I have nothing to go off of besides he said she said.

no you haven't. At least you called a spade a spade when you called yourself one of the more irrational auburn fans.

If everyone is paying, they still have to have a reason to pick one over the other.

That's assuming he is choosing to visit Auburn every weekend while spurning other paychecks from great schools each of those weekends.

He could choose to visit Auburn 4 weekends one month but Bama says nah we only need you for this game and we will pay for that. He takes our money and then commits somewhere else. He got his money, everyone is still paying, but those visits didnt mean diddly squat

I'm friends with the grandfather of a kid we signed last year, we were paying for visits last year for sure.

Ehhhh I don't think that happens enough for it to be a variable that we waste time thinking about. And I still think they had love for auburn and just wanted harsin to prove some sort of development was going on.

I meant more that the practice isn’t anything new. I don’t know to what extent we have or haven’t been, but I know we have done it before. Was just saying paying for a kid to visit, while yea at face value doesn’t look great, really is pretty common and has only become more so with NIL changes.

They actually admitted it was true also, this will happen to alot of the smaller schools as they try to keep up with bigger NILs
