This is why I never like the game of pushing it down the road.

Always a spin for why it gets delayed like “the coaches pushed his commitment to build momentum at the right time” then it turns out the recruit had cold feet.

I don’t think if a recruit is ready to publicly commit that the coaches ever say “nah hold off a few more weeks for the right time”

Game reschedule and this young man is 17/18 years old and torn, Shoe on other foot, you have to admire the young man commitment so far to Freeman and for taking his time.

No matter who he may commit to right now his recruitment by schools will continue until signing day.

I would not take anyone not named Kirby Smart over Hugh Freeze in recruiting right now. By no means is this over.
Have a great day everyone. Getting ready to head to the Loveliest Village and kiss the holy ground!

Going to have to start pressuring some of these to get on board while there is still room…

That is just some fan excuse bullshite. If that kid said he was ready to commit, there is no way in hell Auburn coaches would have told him to wait. Do people see how ridiculous that sounds?

He was never ready to commit. If he was, we would all be rubbing one out and talking about how the ND fans are poor losers

It is absolutely set up like that for some guys.

Alvin Henderson has been doing a countdown on X for Deuce Knight, which lines up with Saturday...which lined up with what he told the coaches. Which was that he was flipping that morning.

Agreed Lanier.

And as Smuphy said, ya still have to hang onto all these guys til signing day.

Travis Smith visiting is interesting, its not even a big game. He would be a huge get, literally and figuratively.

My sources have Deuce Knight staying with ND and chances Auburn flipping him are dropping quickly. I will relay news on this recruitment as I get it.

To be fair, nobody knows this has happened at all. Everyone is just hanging on every word from beat writers predicting a flip and then speculating when it may happen, when they have no idea either. He is coming to our first two games of the season. Even Alvin Henderson's stuff & his countdown, he stated that his goal for last weekend was going to get Deuce to commit. So, it was not a guarantee it was happening.

I think it is mostly we've been conditioned over the last while now to just expect the worst, so anytime anything remotely less than ideal happens, panic buttons ensue.

Either way, we are in a good position with him. We will see how it plays out.

I’m still thinking he flips (no inside info). I just think either our insiders or coaches get too overconfident sometimes.

Clearly ND still pulls at him and leaves some doubt in his mind even though the story from the coaches/insiders is “He’s coming 100%”

If we have another 300+ yard outing through the air with a few TDs, it will move the needle. I am not too hung up over the we need to play X before deciding we are good this year. We took some massive shits against really bad teams last year, so putting away bad teams to sleep early in games and not playing down is always encouraging.

It does happen. Not saying that is what is happening here, but yes teams will hold off on making some commitments public and try and plan certain ones around different things or events. Not saying it happens a ton, but it 100% happens.
