If Hugh can’t do it I don’t know who could get it done at Auburn. He’s our best shot. You can’t recruit any harder than that guy does.

Its hard to win recruiting battles when the other team is throwing cash up front deals and these kids and parents are taking it.

ie. NIL can only go so far when 225k in cash is dumped in the recruits lap with another 775k in NIL guaranteed is presented. It wasnt even a better offer, just cash up front. Like, what the frick man. Betray everyone in the process just to collect now, instead of over three years? Enjoy paying that car lease you signed up for ya little shite.

I'd be curious to hear some more detail about that. Seems like he was going to be one of our top WR recruits and then we just stopped hearing about him. Recruiting needs to pick up again.

I think everyone was somewhat understanding when it was Saban even though it was frustrating. Getting worked by deboer is totally different and they better figure it out quick

Well, he's got to do the playcalling now so he can't focus as much on recruiting. Assistants aren't getting it done, again!

I’m just waiting on the guaranteed to AU picks. Then I’ll know who Bama is getting.

We can get anyone we want depending on how much Hugh wants to spend. It’s about money management now. We have a solid NIL. Not great but not bad. Upper Mid pack SEC. It’s the name of the game now.

On top of that this is an OL/DL priority class.

We will go after other positions but we won’t over spend on those positions. We might overspend on the right guys on OL and DL.

Yep

With the NCAA essentially backing away from any enforcement of NIL due to all their latest court losses, NIL will be on steroids until any changes are added.

OSU money men were tired of losing to Michigan and have now opened their pocket books. Bama money folks are now doing the same and knew they had to. Uga will do the same.

We are gonna need the Auburn big guns moving forward. Collectives counting on the every day joe fan to contribute isn't going to be enough.

Gotta be both. We have a few big guns but not many. They definitely do their part and have for 40 years

Yeah, but the subscription aspect of it will not reach the levels that would be needed to make a huge impact. That's pie in the sky expectations.

I agree. Need better players to win. Without winning you don’t get ground support. Rinse and repeat.

Football itself needs over $12m per year to have a Top 8 roster. We are working with around 13 for the entire athletic department.

its not Doboer. Its their booster system and the piles of cash being handed out to recruits. And Im not talking cash through NIL deals which is legal. More like duffle bags full of 10k racks to be hidden away in closets

The main issue is Auburn is paying recruits through NIL deals which comes with limitations. Bama is just throwing frickin cash up front deals around and hoping no one turns them into the FBI for tax evasion.

Auburn still trying to play within the guidelines and rules

Were getting the NIL deals, but some of these high profile recruits want cash now and thats not how Auburn operates.

Guys just stop it. You think boosters are paying 100s of thousands "under the table" so the IRS doesnt find out. This is the same IRS that audits every couple when they divorce but somehow wont audit a football player in the midst of all this NIL madness. Yeah right.

They are paying and we need to evaluate the payroll and decide. I still think thats why Ryan went to bama, we could have matched it and fcked up the entire salary structure of the signing class and half would be in the portal this December.

If they paid him a million, well take it and buy Babalola, Josh Petty, Carde Smith and Dice

Paying a kid before he starts his senior season is a heck of a risk. Then again, to your point, you know the kid will spend a chunk of it and if a better offer comes around he wont be able to pay it back and take the better offer, unless someone offers him a buyout clause.

This shat is gonna get out of control, whats next they start paying for stud rights for current NFL players.

Ryan went to bama bc he got 225k in cash up front. Thats it. Thats why. Both schools offered roughly the same NIL money, Bama just offered cash up front and Sr took it. Period
