WR to TE is a real stretch

Well not in the last decade because they suck.
Don't you think I probably meant when they didnt suck?
As in the mid 90s when it's said they could have up to 200, 250 players on the team

Some of these youngsters forget there was football pre-Cam I think. That 1995 Nebraska team was a monster. They would roll most teams today, and threw 10 passes doing it

I remember some of those final scores. It was unreal.

Unstoppable. Teams were lucky to get 3 offensive positions a quarter

Most dominant team I've ever seen. Was a missed FG away from a 3peat and over the Big 3 Florida schools.

I'm glad we can all come to an agreement that 105 scholarships is more than 85

And then they started testing for "the juice" and that was the end of that "dynasty". Turns out they were not just "corn fed".
When the NFL started testing, Nebraska linemen started flopping in the league. The "theory" was, Nebraska just develops them to their full potential, so unlike other players, they just dont continue to develop in the NFL. No, the issue was, they would draft an OTackle from Nebraska, and by the time they showed up for spring camp......they were the size of a slot receiver.

Go take a look at how many OL they had drafted in the mid to late 90s. More of them played 5+ years than not, some really good names that lasted a while. None were drafted and didn't play a down because they got skinny as a slot reciever.
Nebraska wasn't doing anything different than anyone else. Guys who were juicing were 2 steps ahead of the testing. You make it sound like the NFL is clean now, yet the lineman keep getting bigger.
If any of them of them flopped it was due to never pass blocking in college, not necessarily because they were juiced.
What ended their dynasty is that high school teams got pass happy, and the lineman developed differently. There weren't enough road graders out there to plug into the system Nebraska (and others) were running.

Why do football fans think every player can move to TE?
Same reason every Auburn fan thinks every former player should be a AU coach.

No, THEY got pass happy and fired Frank Solich and hired Bill Callahan.
Tom Osborne ran the same thing for 30 years, Find a season where they ever lost more than 3 games...

Tom Osborne was unbelievable. As far as thr passing, the chicken or the egg kind of thing. That offense was fun to watch

Nebraska is a glaring example of not knowing what you've got until it's gone.
