He’s definitely doing his part. He’s not blowing away my expectations but nobody else really is either. Still not super impressed with Alston. He’s fine. Hunter was Friend’s guy. Other than that we’ve got a walk-on that got a scholarship plus the kid from Central Michigan. I’ll give him double credit for Tank out of HS + keeping him for 2022

Somebody is eventually gotta break the mold and stop blaming the other positions on their side of the ball. Otherwise we’re just perpetually fricked

put some respect on Caddys name as a recruiter

Not disagreeing with you but pulling in Hunter, Alston, and Cobb isn’t elite recruiting at AU especially at running back. It’s decent recruiting. If you are a running back Auburn should be a destination place every year for a Top 10 back. Plus I haven’t seen anything on the coaching end of things that says Caddy is a high level teacher of the position either. I love Caddy but want more from recruiting then just his position. He should be able to kill it from Huntsville all the way down the east side of the state as a secondary recruiter.

I say that And I don’t know what his primary recruiting area is. Just need a little more from him. From your running back coach you WR coach and your TE coach you need to be pulling in 3-5 recruits a year for the team on offense. The OL coach obviously needs to get his 4-5 linemen he wants every year as well.

I’m with whoever else said they aren’t a big Alston fan. I think he’s a good back but overrated.

I liked Alston more until I saw him a few months ago working with Tank and the disparity in athleticism is pretty clear.

One of the many things that separates me from the guys that make hundreds of thousands of dollars to do this is projecting these guys and understanding how they fit in the offense. So maybe that’s what I don’t see in Alston

I’m closer to a lot of kids that age and movement I may understand a little better then most but I only get to look at guys we are really interested in and compare to some of the more high regarded players at those positions. So I don’t get the full view from all players like some of the services.

But once you get out of the top 5 at each spot you’re looking for style of play and the size and/or speed you want at a particular position a lot of times there really isn’t much difference in number 6 and 15 at a position of a recruit other then what preference the coaches may have on need or body type.

I posted a while back that he’s absolutely bigger than listed and runs bigger than he is. The Kamara comparison is pretty spot on, in regards to his build and style of play. He has a blue collar work ethic and that’ll help separate him from guys of similar size and athleticism down the road. I’m excited to have him on board, but we could flip Nick Chubb tomorrow and it won’t matter without an offensive line

We wouldn’t let the dude that went to Michigan St commit. Name escapes me. So we’ve had opportunities with OL. Maybe Friend has a plan but seems like the staff as a whole struggles with either reading the room or just don’t get it

Yea, this staff is mostly made up of microwaved dog shite. The Auburn BOT should’ve cut ties back in February, or whenever all of that stuff went down.

This will be another wasted year and wasted recruiting class, leading up to Bryan Harsin being fired.

I mean I love Zac too, but he's still only got 1 guy committed right now. I do think its pretty obvious that him and Caddy are even the only 2 decent recruiters on this staff though.

Actually Zac, C-Rob are the only good recruiters, brumbaugh and Caddy would be very average to slightly below SEC standard recruiters.

Friend is normally a decent recruiter but yet to be seen at AU. The rest seem to suck.

Plus it’s not like they are trying to recruit for Ole miss or Arkansas. They are recruiting for Auburn. Even tho we aren’t at peak right now we are still Auburn.

C Rob hasn't done anything yet either. I give him more leeway because he hasn't been here long, but other than Lewis Carter and hoping Ausberry doesn't go to ND we don't have much going on at LB. I think he's better than all the others though. Jury is still out on Ike since he just got here too.

Show me another coach on this team that's getting a top 10 player at their position and I'll agree.

I hate typing this words, but those 2 teams are ahead of us right now. It won't be like that forever, but we are closer to the bottom of the league than the top.

You guys are arguing whether or not we have 1 good recruiter and the results on that are unclear. Might not be a hill I’d die on

Look at what Zac brought in last class. Scott, Rhym, Ausberry, and others, he had a huge part in getting the LB from Williamson too.

I’m not arguing one way or another. Just stating my opinion. I was the first one on board last June and saying this staff as in the coaches under Harsin or Harsin vision recruiting absolutely sucked. So this is a year later then I jumped all over this.
