I told someone recently I didn’t know if Walker White was the #1 target at ‘24 QB. He definitely is

He’s the top target for a few schools. He visited today and leaves tomorrow. Loves Freeze and Montgomery

Jones whats the take on White vs Noland? Just looking at the stats Noland's td to int is about 3 times better than Whites, but granted Noland is surrounded by a semi pro team.

And White sure is getting alot of attention from a lot of the best programs.

whats your thoughts or anyone else's on the two of them.

I like Whites size and arm strength. Noland has nice touch on his throws and a can spin it as well. Both are great options. Higher ceiling? I'm leaning White

My completely amateur review: White is prototypical size at 6’ 3”, 225 with good speed (ran 4.6 at a recent camp). He trucks some guys in his tape running the football and is a true dual threat. Will stand tall in the pocket and go through his reads though as well. Can make all the throws. Shows good touch on his long throws, but can make tight window throws as well. As a prospect, not much not to like honestly.

I think both are great college QB prospects that we’d be lucky to have. White might be more prototypical. But I’m a sucker for the guys like Noland that have a ton of talent and options but just want to be at Auburn. Those guys have surplus value to me

He would’ve committed last summer if our past staff handled it better

Walker was contacted day 1 and was the first high school player for next years class that Freeeze and crew reached out to.

Noland hasn’t been offered by Freeze, yet.

Not pushing the panic button. I trust Bobo's evaluation.
I believe Freeze would have made it work with Sanders if he was completely uncomfortable.

White rated his visit a 10.

Thanks guys, thats the scary part about NIL you darn near have to hit on a QB target every year because if you miss on a kid's potential, while figuring that out the one behind him on the bench takes an offer to another school and you are scrambling in the portal to find somebody.

And its tough to justify good NIL money for a kid who is on the bench and unproven.

Lot of chess pieces with the portal and NIL, its really going to see the head coach's job evolve more into personnel/CEO type job and less into coaching, leaving that more and more to coordinators and position coaches.

That's what head coaches should do. Gus' whole career could be much different if he'd have trusted his staff to do their jobs. Well, that, and recruit more than 1 OL every 3 years

I guess Freeze is going to have a full spring to evaluate Robby further and he’s not the guy then expect a portal QB in May when the portal opens back up.

Rather get the right QB later than the wrong one now

What about the right QB now?

I do think we’ll still be shopping the QB market hard post spring. This staff hasn’t shown complacency with any position on the field so far and I can’t imagine QB will be any different

Need more croots. Hugh needs to get as many as possible. We know there’ll be attrition, whether by normal course of things or by design. Always is. Gotta get players.

‘24 4* QB Walker White rated his visit to Auburn a 10/10

quote:

“It went very, very well,” White told Auburn Live. “I feel like what stood out was how their whole staff brought me in and was hospitable. They took care of me and my family the whole day. Coach (Hugh) Freeze even took us around the whole campus and that was very special.”

Says he’ll come check out a spring practice

Obviously, that would be ideal. But that doesn't appear to be what will happen. Maybe McCall gets his shite together and re-enters the portal? Maybe the UGA QB that loses their competition enters the portal?

Not sure why we passed on Sanders from OK State, but we will never know.
