Imagine being Harsin. Losing players to the portal. Mid 70s recruiting class. 4 star instate safety wants to commit but you are like "Nah, I'm shooting for dem 5*'s."

He was trying to stick it to Auburn on the way out…no way you miss this badly at positions of need in the most loaded Alabama class in 20 years.

They are just mad because they know that is what Saban built his foundation on and now everyone can pay and grab the players up he feeds BS to just to get them away from other schools.
It will mean alot more to go undefeated in the sec in a couple years. All the top player will be starting somewhere and there will be a big drop off in backups.

They will eventually counter it by separating the P5 schools from everyone else to get more players to go to less schools. Likely after all the realignments settle down and get set.
But it's better for the sport to not have had money and watched everyone more strictly. The transfer portal and NIL together is a mess as it is. But they will never get rid of the NIL now as deeply as its set in. All they can do it alter the rules for it.
