To this day I still think Jovon was a 5 tool RB as well but his head was in his way and that’s unfortunately a heightened risk with juco players. If it’s not grades (which should never happen considering most identified athletes get coached into not letting grades hold them back as early as 8th grade) it is rehab.

Not giving up on him just yet. He has the tools to be another Nick Fairley. And Fairley wasn’t Fairley until his final season. M’ba is still learning the game.

I said it before; the JUCO success rate is pretty damn bad.
There aren't that many HS players nowadays who have horrible grades. That was the whole shift: before you had really good HS players who didn't know they needed to graduate HS (lol) and they had to go to JUCO or Prep school. So you had lots of actual football talent in the JUCO ranks. Nowadays, how many top players fail to qualify out of HS? This means that most guys in JUCO are there because they weren't good enough to get real looks out of HS. Not because they were just academic casualties. The Prep School route is completely dead as well, and there used to always be real talents popping up from Hargreave Military Academy and company.

Yes but you can not ignore it. Our best seasons over the past 15 years are because of JUCO

But I do agree with your direction and I think with the portal, you should spend more time and money there. But you cant just ignore the historical places to get easy talent

It looks like DJ Chester may go to LSU, but there's some AU interest. FSU Insiders say they're trying to grab him so we're in a dogfight
Hope we can reel him in, he's a real gem of a talent for the OL

Yeah, but those were two guys that were kicked off premier SEC teams and were forced to go to JUCO lol. Cam Newton was a 5-star out of HS. There is a big difference between that and evaluating a highly ranked JUCO recruit today who was an unranked player out of HS.

I was more-so talking about the practice of good HS players who had terrible grades and couldn't qualify being able to go to places like Hargrave Military for 1-year to fix their transcripts. IMG is more of a full 4-year HS for their elite recruits, it's not known as a place where kids with horrible grades go to become eligible.
And that's the whole point I was making: most kids who are good enough to be recruited by us are going to have good enough grades to qualify into Auburn out of HS in today's climate. That wasn't always the case, as before the JUCO's used to get a lot of legitimately great talent who had horrendous transcripts and couldn't get in anywhere out of HS.

They better be. We have to take advantage of our bye week, because we're already down on some prospects that we were contending for
They better not slip-up on this
Edit: Looks like Rueben Bain might commit to Miami, but there's a slight chance we may get him
Looks like Tyler Scott will go to Tennessee (Wiltfong predicted this and he's almost always spot on)
Hope we can use this bye week to our advantage

Hopefully the kids commit to the school and not the coach....

Might commit when? What are you reading?

He put this in a week ago at medium confidence. Since then, Oklahoma and USC have offered. Bama offered last week.
Looks like he’s going to keep his recruitment open a while. Wiltfong is nails when the decision is soon. His record is pretty clean because he almost always changed his CB when he’s wrong

I'm not sure when because Bain is still keeping his recruitment open. But Miami is a huge contender for him and the fans feel pretty confident with him committing to em (sorry if I'm wrong on this).

True.

As of the last month, AU has felt very confident.
To write him off to Miami is just premature.

Trying to figure out if I’ve missed something new or not. Bain’s whole family is connected to Miami. Dad went there. Brother is on the staff. They’re gonna be a factor no matter what

Also, don’t apologize to Rig. Make a joke about him napping instead. He loves that

Jeremiah Cobb offered by Georgia

As long as Caddy stays, I’m not worried about Cobb.
