Thats actually what impressed me, the kid obviously knows quite a bit about the program which is surprising. We forget Bo hasnt played in 40 years.

Maybe we have a chance, some kids want to get out of their environment....and it is Detroit.
I don't know why, but I get Detroit housing mixed into my Zillow "Ten Houses You May Like" emails of late. The cost per square foot has me intrigued given the absurd amount here.

Careful Alpine, I think you made a wise choice of living.

Do like the linemen saying we need immediate help, obviously we are not beating around the bush.

He would have been like 6 when Cam was here and 9 during the kick-6.

Im very curious how we are handling NIL. I know its "supposed" to be separate from the school, if so, are we setting up a company to manage the whole process, not this signing memorabilia program, I mean the whole process. Most kids we sign will require an "agreement" and most on the roster will as well, and ones in the portal. You are talking about over a hundred "agreement" negotiations.

And thats what it will entail, you certainly cant manage this without an entire company. On the other side, you can bet the quality recruits have already enlisted the help of Jimmy Sexton, heck he probably already has a division set up and a recruiting dept contacting all the five and high four stars already.

Who is setting up the budgets, quantifying by person, by position, same as you would if you were drafting a player.
And this would have to be done for all recruits as well as the ones in the portal.

Speaking of, do we have a separate dept in admin for the football recruiting dept dedicated to players in the portal who "might" come available that we would want.

I just hope someone or entity has handed Harsin a pro forma showing what we think it will cost per position based on his recruiting board and said, here is 10 million salary cap, get to it.

Dont laugh, we are spending 92 million alone on a football facility, accelerated depreciation thats north of 10 million a year. The TV contract will give the program 68 million a year (I know thats for the school not recruiting, then tell boosters to move their funding to NIL and away from school donations).

Crystal ball for Auburn on 3* DT Joshua Horton

Has offers from LSU, UGA, Michigan, and UNC, Miami, Michigan State among others. He’s one of 4 prospects from Langston Hughes High. We’re thought to also lead for his teammate 4* CB Terrance Love

Bama legacy too. As has been said, very early But Ramil’s dad said Auburn is doing a really good job recruiting him.

I think we could see some CBs eventually go in for 4* OL Clay Wedin too.

Wedin is the one I figured we would get CBs for first actually.

Supposedly Eku Leota didn't know NIL Auburn existed until a couple months ago.

That’s not necessarily an indictment on NIL Auburn.

Do you think most Auburn fans/Alabama citizens would know Leota’s face on an advertisement? This isn’t just free money- there’s a quid pro quo here and Leota (although I think he’s an awesome player) isn’t gonna be a marketing powerhouse.

Let's be honest here..............how many people would recognize the faces of the OL Texas just signed?

quote:

Every Texas Longhorns offensive lineman on scholarship will get $50,000 annually for use of their name, image and likeness to support charitable causes, a new nonprofit entity announced Monday.

we must find a way to start playing the NIL game.

Agree on the Texas OL thing but Leota transferred to Auburn without NIL. We were his best option, period. NIL didn’t even factor in

The intriguing information isn’t whether Leota is making NIL money. It’s that NIL Auburn, a business solely dedicated to providing NIL services to Auburn athletes, isn’t well known to every and all Auburn athletes (a couple of months ago).

FWIW, NIL Auburn really did a huge push back in December. I didn’t respond to that post because I also wasn’t really aware of NIL Auburn until then. I’d heard some bits of information but there wasn’t a lot put about it before 3-4 months ago. So it didn’t surprise me that an athlete that had previously transferred to Auburn and competing for playing time wasn’t fully invested in it either.

Just my thoughts. Phillip Dukes said a few days back (maybe a week?) that someone involved with NIL auburn or Auburn NIL deals in general told him there are many Auburn athletes with million dollar deals now

This needs to be leaked to the media if true. Get the word out there to recruits.

4* DT Xzavier Mcloud after his visit yesterday

Walking out, I didn’t want to leave,” McLeod said. “It was a great experience, great visit. I loved the practice and loved watching them get after it. Most definitely I’ll come back soon.”
