What’s up with Noland’s offers?

I think it’s well known that I’m not high on Harsin, however, his HS QB evals have been very very good. Maybe they have a good reason for passing on Air, I like Williams a lot.

Maybe they all thought he was going to Auburn and didn't bother. Maybe the offers aren't up to date or maybe they don't want him. I know on pretty much any site you use he's a top 15 QB and top 10 on some list.

But as I've said.. its about the bridge that was burned when we mislead them. No too different than many other stories we've heard about this staff and how they've acted after they've decided they didn't want a player. We're just a couple of pages removed from someone else saying how they haven't even been visiting high schools.. I don't think I'm stretching things to say they don't handle things in the most up front manner.

Why not tell Noland about Posse before his surprise big cat visit? Why tell him you still want him in the class only to turn around and focus on Emory Williams instead?

Time will tell if this staff signs anymore players from ATL though.. feel free for everyone to call me out if I'm wrong.

I disagree about misleading him. He was told a long-time ago to commit. We would have taken him. He is not talented enough for us to wait on. Posse has legit skills. That's the risk Noland took when delaying.

Who’s to say any of those guys are owed anything?
Bo has been stringing Auburn along only to reaffirm with UGA a few times, Horton stopped showing interest a while back, Thurman committed to OSU, and Love has been flirting with USCe. They need the red carpet rolled out but all still playing the games.

He was very close to committing lol.. I doubt it would have been much longer after big cat. And again.. he was fine being part of a 2 QB class after he had a little time to think.

No one thinks its weird to go from telling someone they are the top guy, to having a secret QB recruit, to being told you're still wanted as part of a 2 QB class, to being dropped period.. why not be upfront with him from the beginning about Posse and Williams?

My argument isn't for one over the other. I think they are both good. Just for clarity sake though.. 247 composite has Posse rated .9271 and Noland is .9243. Their 247 only rankings has Posse an 88 and Noland an 89. So they are both very good prospects.

Not relating it to why we want him or don’t want him. Just surprised that Noland’s offers are pretty weak for a QB of his rating. Especially for a kid this well known. It’s one of the things I’ve struggled to understand about that guy

Posse camped at Auburn mid June and earned an offer. Then committed less than 2 months later. It’s not like this was a kid they were trying to keep quiet. Offer to commitment happened pretty quick. He was a pretty early confirmed attendee of BCW and after all of the run around the staff has had with the Langston Hughes kids and after missing out on Glenn, I’m sure they were just happy to focus attention toward kids that wanted to come to Auburn.

The popularity/Atlanta angle is overblown in the NIL era. Kind of surprised you’re knighting so hard for a kid that seems like the textbook case of liking Auburn but going elsewhere

What bridge was burned exactly? It’s all about money

Its about the handlers in ATL. They thought their guy was the top option and then he got dropped. I know handlers are a thing everywhere, but its extra in ATL the past few years. A lot of these guys have their rec or middle school coach who hung around and not only is steering their recruitment but getting all of these guys to the same HS. He's kind of moved on now, but Kenyatta Watson was really the first one who started it with the Grayson kids (to the point he basically picked each school for those players) and a few more people have done it since. Take a look at Collins Hill as a good example of another school its happening at right now.

Air Noland wanted to commit to Auburn SO BAD but never did, even though he wanted to, but now cant. Guess he ignored the last 3 months when Auburn offered about 5 ‘24 QBs. I’m sure that’s all coincidence

No clue what actually happened. I’d bet my money on Auburn feeling like this kid, despite Auburn being his best offer, was going to take them the distance and milk out more interest from other programs. I’m sure Auburn’s appetite for that was squashed after Brock Glenn held out for OSU and Posse made it clear he wanted in.

Kind of proud of the staff for not getting caught with their dick in their hand for once.

This !!!!!!!

Without hearing these QBs in conversation w HARSIN and Kiseau I get the feeling there skills were so close they went with the QB that projected a want to to sign w Auburn.

We have Zero Clue if Air Noland came across wishy washy or unsure but Harsin is in no position to ride their train.

I agree with Jo on this.

jt33 is a Georgia guy and I know he likes a lot of the in state kids there. I like Noland too. But they really didn’t even offer another ‘24 kid other than Noland until this summer. IMO, if Noland wanted in he had plenty of time to shut down Auburn’s recruitment of other ‘24 QBs. He wanted to wait which is fine but Auburn can’t afford to turn down a QB like Posse after Glenn moved on and with how our QB depth chart looks.

We’d absolutely skewer Harsin if he passed up Posse this summer and Nolan’s wound up elsewhere next spring. It is what it is

Had nothing to do with it. If we chose someone else over him thats fine, but there are ways to do things without pissing people off. Like I said though, time will tell on how many more guys we get from ATL.

Also its not a Noland or Posse situation. They we're fine coming in the class together.

Posse is the better QB for the Harsin system. Plus as I said probably a month or so ago Noland is overrated. As soon as all his teammates go to all over the place to play college let’s see how far he falls.

Granted if he comes back around for a 2 QB class because he does have a high upside but overrated in the rankings.

Posse very well might end up the better QB. I like him plenty too. I don't want to keep going on and on just saying the same thing though. About to head to the scrimmage thread and read some melt that I'm almost sure is there lol.

I just now got to catch the JC Hart commitment video. Damn truly a dream come true for this kid. He loves his momma and Auburn. Will definitely cheer extra hard for this kid. I got a little emotional just watching that
