Everyone is having their big weekend next weekend because high school teams start official practice the Monday after. I think the state of Florida starts practice this week why if any Florida kids come to any of the multiple “weekend” things going on will be late comers.

Intriguing Edge guy on campus today, per CC/247: 3* DE Joseph Mupoyi
On3 has him as a 4*. Michigan, PSU, Miami are some of the other schools that have offered. He told SI last week that if the unofficial goes well he’s likely to use an OV
Clemente also had an article up about some CB’s he’s considering. 4* DLs Wilky Denaud and Ashley Williams are two of them. He also mentioned that he’s hearing Auburn has a good shot for Lew
Last note from Clemente, he thinks 2024 4* QB Adrian Posse could commit at or after Big Cat

Looks like we will be taking 2 next year after missing out on Glynn

Hats off to the staff if they’re able to sign both Adrian Posse and Air Prentiss

Denaud is moving his commitment up, possibly as early as Wednesday, per Irvins/Clemente @247. Current thought is that Auburn is in good shape there

KN and Jeffrey both just put in predictions for Denaud to AU.

Clemente now has CB’s on 4*’s Denaud, Williams, and ‘24 QB Posse
Says all three might be committed before end of BCW

Playing devils advocate. We have talked about recruiting relationships beginning in 9th/10th grade. Is 24 the first class Harsin will have with kids not already leaning to one school?

I think they’ve had plenty of time with the ‘23 class. Obviously, they’ve had even more time with the ‘24 class but this NIL era also throws a wrench into the relationship factor, IMO.
We’ve missed on a ton of guys and, to the staff’s credit credit, they’re replenishing the board with decent options so far. Denaud and Williams aren’t on the level of the kids in state (Faulk, Hunter) but they’re both interesting looking prospects with good offer lists

If you were being funny because of their names you did well for your old age.

You are right about NIL Jonesy. We used to worry about a few hat switchers on signing day. We could outbid, or be outbid up until signing day on all players. I think that is why Bo Hughley is interested. Someone with the bucks is saying, we can forego some of these fellas, but we have to have a starting left tackle come the fall of 23 and we cant hope for portal help, and we cant wait for someone "to develop".
Wonder if the same thing is happening with Russaw and Smith, one can hope.

I agree, Harsin has had plenty of time to eval, and go after the better '23 kids, but 2 things again are causing him to finish well.
1. He had the personal scandal hit
2. He changed too many staff after only 1 year on the job, and I think it hurt recruiting.
3. NIL. Now this one is mcuh on the admin and PTB to get this up to tope level SEC standards. HArsin contributed his share of stalling it to allow it to become competitive, but Auburn tends to do when it comes to players and money, they are just too conservative...

Quotes from Caleb Jones/Rivals:
quote:
The Tigers are looking to add several edge players to their 2023 class and Mupoyi feels like they want him to be one of them. The feeling is mutual.
"I want to be here too," he said.
Mupoyi spent time talking with Jeffery M'ba and Derrick Hall, but his favorite conversations were with the coaching staff — especially edge coach Roc Bellantoni.
"Coach Roc, he doesn’t say some stuff to just say it," Mupoyi said. "He’ll show you he wants you. Not just because you play football, he wants you to be a better person."
After the visit, Auburn is somewhere that Mupoyi wants to take an official visit. He's already taken one to Michigan and took an unofficial visit to Penn State.
Also said that if he had a top 5 right now that Auburn would definitely be in it

On3 quotes on 3* OL Vysen Lang
Said he could play inside or out and is looking forward to Big Cat because it’s going to be a huge cookout and he’s prepared to eat.
quote:
According to Lang, Auburn would be like “playing in my back yard”
With three official visits set, and two remaining to be set, Auburn is absolutely in play for one.
“I will most likely take an official visit to Auburn,” Lang said. Auburn, of course, is just a quick drive up I-85 for Lang.
“It’s right up the road, like 30 minutes,” Lang said. “It’s good, so I feel like if I go to Auburn it’s going to be like playing in my back yard. My whole family, friends, teammates, they can all come see me play every Saturday.”
Lang insisted that Coach Will Friend and Coach Joe Bernardi are the two leading the Tigers’ recruiting efforts.
“It’s going good,” Lang said. They’ve been talking to me everyday–everyday.”
The big OL made it clear that the Tigers are recruiting him heavily.
“They’re coming after me hard”, Lang said.
