Just bc he didn't stay in the portal?
My concern is he wants to work out, go through spring and continue to show his skills, and then after spring go back into the portal...
Same goes with Wooden....I just feel secure in them staying..unless somehow they are getting some NIL.

I I think he wants to stay. The turmoil is tough on kids. But this discussion is probably better in another thread.
I will also tip my cap to Harsin for going outside his comfort zone in his approach right now. Doesn’t mean we will sign an amazing class but he’s making some right moves to get in much better position to get some high school kids. I still think he needs a top 10 class to even remotely quiet down the recruitniks Top 7 would be considered getting the job done. Worse then top 10 not sure he survives.

He was supposed to rejoin the team yesterday. Announced it on instagram live with Jaylin Simpson a week or two ago. I didn't personally hear it but have seen it mentioned by more than a few. JG also had something out about him being back but I've yet to see anything official

I’ve kinda transitioned this to a recruiting and roster thread since the roster is so fluid with the portal now. So I think transfer talk stays unless everyone just hates it being here

I think that is a good move Jones. Ultimately the two are linked because whatever players do end up leaving/not leaving, will have a direct impact on how we shape our recruiting class. So, letting this thread develop into a broader roster management thread I think is a good idea.
What we need to avoid as much as possible though, is grown adults having meltdowns over 18 year old vague tweets (fool's hope I know)

I don't want to stay too far off topic, but its not worth making a whole new post over... but have we heard anything about us staying in the 3-4 or are we changing? I was hoping we would ditch the 3-4, but I just saw Sydir Mitchell is visiting in April. Just looking at his body type he seems like a NG which would mean the 3-4 is staying.

Some think that Schmedding will do some more 4-2-5, but if you watch Boise State games from the last couple of years they looked pretty multiple still.

Recap of that article (family zoom w/ Harsin, staff, and Greene)
- A parent reached out to 247 (interesting nugget, but KN is well known to most of these parents from recruiting)
- Harsin was upbeat and positive. Harsin says the team is focused on off season workouts and he was proud of the team leadership for speaking with the trustees and administration.
- invited family to spring practices. Spoke for 30 minutes and took questions. Most questions were parents giving support to Harsin
- Said he learned more in the last year at Auburn than his whole coaching career prior
Overall, it continues to support a trend we’ve seen. Harsin is making an effort to develop relationships with the families and players after a year of not prioritizing that. Parents are taking notice of a change in that regard and are complimentary of it.

He really didn't have much of a choice. I'm sure the conversations with Gouge, Green, etc after the investigation was..."you're not going to last long if you don't make these certain changes"
At least it seems like he's willing to accept that certain ways of doing things aren't going to work. We'll see what happens out on the cruitin trail this year, but my hope is that it opened his eyes to how he needs to approach that as well nd he understands that you can't be a hardass on and off the field at all times and expect to make it work. There's a middle ground that you must be capable of navigating in this conference.

Recruiting nuggets:
- 5* CB Tony Mitchell will visit Mar 19 for the junior day
- 4* OT Stanton Ramil is in constant communication with Friend and Harsin. He’s planning to visit for a spring game and a practice this spring

Everyone has choices even in the situation Harsin found himself. He chose to fight for the coaching job and appears to be correcting things he heard from the players. Hopefully it translates in better recruiting and wins. Time will tell.

Link for Auburn Live video on recruiting:

They said Joiner is really recruiting hard for Auburn. Really pushing other OL to join him.

He’s really helping the staff sell the turnover that’s going to happen there and how a new group can come in and make it their OL.

That should've been a big selling point for years. It's great to already have a top OL committed to sell that.

That’s true. It’s just so happens that we’re finally at that point where it has to turn over due to expired eligibility

Ah this is where Jonesy's new format helps. Looking at current roster, after this fall only Keiondre Jones will be left from ANY players on the line with playing time.
Even the upperclassmen with no experience will be gone.
Immediate playing time for decent signees. If they are that good, come to Auburn, start as a freshman, play 3 years and go pro, or go to bama and sit on the bench for a year or two before you sniff the field (that line they signed in 2021 is the thing of legend).
Auburn may not be Bama or Georgia but its the SEC, you will get national recognition, experience against the best in the country....and the chicks are hot (how am I doing).....and by the way, here is your NIL contract for being a spokesman for XYZ.
