It’s weird. Hugh talked a lot about tailoring the offense to what your personnel can do, but it seems like they only have about 5 plays for Ashford. I get if you don’t want to run a full on RPO offense with him with a ton of option routes, but I expect at least 50% of the offense to still be usable and then add in the stuff you drew up just for him.

Last year I said Ashford is a good kid, but if he’s our best quarterback again this year, we’re in for another long season. I was right. And he is.
So, since we’re in for another long season, just give it Ashford and let him run with it. At least the offense is interesting when he’s in the game, because something good MIGHT happen. So frick it. Let’s at least have some fun.

They were swapping packages and subbing players and it was all just WASTING TIME… and then didn’t even use either of our two remaining time-outs! Then brought in the “passing” QB and couldn’t complete a single pass!

I think at this point Freeze is just being stubborn to the fact that his portal choice is wrong. Let Ashford and Geiner play the rest of the season, this fricking experiment is well done at this point.

Was there a series I missed where Ashford did well? It’s really time for us to acknowledge our OL, WR and QB are all subpar.

I’m not “never Ashford” and I would never root against the kid. But I said last year we needed to go out and get a better QB. I was right…and we didn’t.
You’re right. He’s our best option at QB right now. Can’t deny that.

You’d think eventually that would be the case but we are halfway through the season. Every game I end up making this statement, Thorne has his issues and is a problem with the offense but even the times he’s actually been solid the offense still sucks. Point being, the offense doesn’t work with him in and I doubt that is going to change.

I said after the Coastal QB fell through that there wasn’t anyone left in the portal better than what we already had.

How do you get that. Cause he came in at the 20 against umass and scored? Or got the score against UGa after the turnover. Ok he’s decent in the red zone. But you have some excuse everytime Robby comes in. Should everyone else bitch when Robby comes in the middle of the drive and goes out and it’s 3rd and 8 and expect Thorne to throw it move the chains.
